I purchased 6+ dozen roses online to put on the wedding cake, and to use for centerpieces. FedEx didn't deliver them on time, now they say the roses are still 1300 miles away, and they MIGHT be here today.
The party is tomorrow.
I need an inexpensive backup plan in case they don't arrive. I don't want a naked wedding cake, and 10 empty vases.
Any ideas?

I hope that they get there to you! If not I would definately hit up a wholesale store like BJs or Costco. Their flowers are usually beautiful and they usually sell them in bouquets of 2 dozen that are cheaper than a dozen else where/

Most of the centerpieces I see available for 50th Anniversary are tacky looking, I think homemade is the way to go.. Violets are the 50th Anniversary flower and they would look nice as centerpieces, maybe dress them up with gold ribbons. A double picture frame with "then and now" pictures of the couple would be nice also. White candles on a gold plate are pretty, but I would change to white flowers in a vase with a gold rim or ribbon if the party is daytime. Those are the only things I can think of right now, I also put a link below to some pretty nice centerpiece ideas, maybe you can find something there. Hope I helped a little =)

Unless you just have to use real flowers; I would go with silk flowers. They are beautiful and inexpensive. It sounds like you might have already made a considerable investment in the original order and the silk flowers would save you a little and look just as good.

Flowers at the grocery store are much less expensive than ordering on internet. I order a lot of flowers, so trust me you can save money by going to the store and getting them.

Good Luck
