I am considering walking down the isle veil-less. Just because there is already so much to my dress, and I don't want to have to deal with the hassle of it being in my hair....and what not. Plus, I like the way it looks.
What do you think about this?

I'm getting married this Sept (YAY!) and since this is both mine and my fiance's 2nd marriage we are doing things a little on the "non-traditional" side...
I am having my 12 yr old daughter walk me down the isle and she is very excited about it. Being the age that she is, she SO doesn't want a little "fru-fru" dress, she wants to look a little more grown up.
The style of dress that she REALLY wants is a strapless bubbleskirt style dress.
I've found TONS of them in "adult" bridesmaid sizes, but I can't seem to find any in a "juniors" size. Even if I were able to find one WITH the straps that would be fine...she mainly likes the skirt.

I know I could have one made, so please don't post that as an answer, I'd just rather purchase one if possible.....

Anybody have any leads????

My dad and I are going to dance at my wedding reception but the problem is, he can't dance! He insists he can but my mother (who was married to him for 25 years) insists he can't! It's really important that we have the dad/daughter dance but he'll step on my toes, a LOT and I don't want to be hobbling around my reception! :-) Any suggestions on how to politely suggest we practice?

Our theme is white, pink and butterflies. I am making my own place cards, menus, order of services and table plan myself and buying crafty things to make them with - sticking by my theme. It is a July wedding so I think these colours will (hopefully) match the weather!!!!

Maybe you can tell me if i'm wrong.

My boyfriend and I have been together for seven years. We finally decided to get married. The reason we waited so long is because he has been dealing with a custody issue that finally got resolved in our favor. I have been there for him in every way I can think of. I never ask for anything, always pay my share of the bills and give more when he is short. I take on a lot and never ask for anything in return.

I told him I want to get married in my home town so both of our families can be there. On the East Coast.

Now he is like, why do we have to get married there, what about our friends out here. I basically told him to give me this one thing. I'm not asking for a big engagement ring or anything. I just want to get married with our family around. If friends are real friends they will come to the East Coast right???

Tell me if i'm wrong.

I will be getting married soon, and I want a wedding that is memorable and special, but also inexpensive. I know that some larger purchases can't be avoided, like the dress and the tux, but I want to keep the costs as low as possible. Thanks in advance for your answers.

My fiance's ex-wife and I have become friends through mutual friends. We go out often with each other because of those mutual friends. Periodically she will invite me out for "girls night". We are now making our guest list and have come to her. I like her alot and fun with her but I'm not just not sure how I feel about her coming to my wedding. My fiance and her have children together and get along good too. He's leaving this totally up to me.

I'm getting married on July 28 of this year. We're not having a meal during the reception, but we will be having finger foods. I'm mainly just looking for food ideas; suggestions of games, songs, etc.

Also, if anyone knows the proper etiquitte (I know that's spelled wrong) that would be great! What I'm talking about is, the bride and groom are dancing, Dad breaks in, the groom dances with ____, etc. (Dumb question. My grandmother made me promise I'd find out. Haha)

Thanks for all your help!

I know it's an honor to have a party thrown for me and my singlehood before marriage, but I really don't want one. If I must choose an activity along with the ladies, I would do a spa day with my girlfriends.

I really want a bachelor/bachelorette co-ed nightclub party (maybe with Go-Go dancers??) since our friends are mixed both guys and gals. But does me and my fiance have a say?? I think my bridesmaids will be up for the idea, but how do I (nicely and respectfully) explain my wishes and desires about these pre-wedding parties?? I'm willing to shell out some of my own cash to make it one great party that everyone can enjoy!!!

I'm looking for engraved glasses for my wedding (Aug. 2008), and I found this web site. They seem to have a lot of options and reasonable prices, so I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and if you would recommend them.

...I think she is hiding. She prides herself on being strong and independent and we usually agree on everything from home furnishings to food so when I said I want to have an extremely small wedding (no tuxs, no guests, just me and her) I wasnt surprised when she agreed. But I think (Im pretty darn positive) that there is a small cute little redheaded princess in her that just wants a big white dress and go through the "big white wedding day". But she will never admit to it, so what can I do to get that little princess in her to show its true colors? I mean, I want her to be happy first and foremost, but how can I do that if she won't come clean about herself?

I know it is tacky to host our own, but other members of the wedding party think it's a great idea. We would pool our money together, reserve VIP area at a nightclub and throw a big pre-wedding bash on the Thursday night before the weekend wedding. This would take place of all bachelor and bachelorette parties, engagement party, etc. We just want a fun fun party that everyone who will attend the wedding (OOTowners especially), can get together and party casually.

Is this a bad idea? Is it a bad idea to include the wedding party in party planning (specifically financially) since we don't want any other parties thrown for us? Please help, b/c I really want to pursue this idea.

I'm addressing my RSVP envelopes for my wedding, they will not be hand written, I'm printing them off of my computer... does it matter if the address is centered or left aligned? If so, why?

I have been planning for over a year already. I have boxes of stuff under the bed, under my desk, next to the bed, in my trunk and some in the basement. There are some things like purchasing cups, plates, utensils, etc., that I'll do closer to the big day. I have lists upon lists of what to take with us.

We're spending the night before in a motel near the park where we're being married.

Please name things, small, & large-basically EVERYTHING you can think of (leave no details out) that I'll need to remember to take.

Don't leave anything off your list because you think it's silly or obvious.

Thanks for your help!

I'm 25 & he is 23.His parents are not accepting this & they have told that, they can never accept me.We met each other in our last company. He was desperate for me & took the first initiative. As my parents would never accept him,I was not ready to accept him & I told him everything on his face. But he was so determined & was able to convince me.Both of us were ready to go against our family.Things were going fine.At that time,he was not emotionally very much attached to his family, but now he has started feeling his responsibility towards his parents, being the elder son.He has engaged himself in the family affairs & his mom tries to convince him emotionally.Sometimes he gets convinced & has told me that, he can't marry me without their approval & blessings.Still he is trying to convince them,he needs some time, but I'm pretty sure that, this is not gonna melt the ice.I don't wanna lose him.But I know, he is not gonna do anything going against them which he has told me very clearly.Advise.
