I really love my girlfriend and want to marry her. We have been together for like 3 and a half years already. I am 27 and she is 25. How did you propose to your girlfriend? She started to look at bridal magazines since last months and whenever we are at a store, she always take me to look at engagement rings. Actually, before I propose to her, how should I go about her parents?

if she's a lady who is really close to her family, i'd propose at a family gathering, or something (after asking for her parent's blessing, of course). my last two male friends proposed, then had an immediate engagement party after the proposal. One proposed during a surpise "birthday party," (so she was expecting to go to a party), but did not know it was her engagement party. And the other simply organized a surprise engagement party and proposed right after we shouted SURPRISE! So it's up to you. Be creative, but make it special.

A friend of mine recently got engaged when her boyfriend gave her a series of clues, which led to different activities: an art museum, horse carriage ride, dinner, a boadway show, and ending in them going to an outdoor ice skating rink where "their" song was playing. It was an incredibly romantic way, and the whole day was magical for them.
As for the parents, just be honest about why you want to marry their daughter. Explain why you are the best person for her to spend her life with.

Talk to the dad. Ask him to do something with you. If he likes to golf. Do it with him. Make sure he is comfortable. The say I would like to marry your daughter. tell them why and say that you will never hurt her.
There are so many ways to ask a girls hand in marriage. Take her to an exoctic beach in Hawaii. Have a moonlight candlelight along the beach. Then take a walk long the water barefoot. Trust Me she will love it. Then when she leasts expect it . Pull her really close and kiss her. Then get down on one knee and ask her to marry you. I promise you that she already has the wedding planned and that in a heart beat she will say yes.

Do it in a way that she will remember always. Perhaps a weekend away together at a popular couples resort and then on the second night make it all about romance and your love for her. As for her parents, you could tell them in advance of your intentions a few days before you sweep their daughter off her feet. They will know you respect and trust them with their silence until she is able to tell them herself.

A good conversation where you both agree that marriage is going to happen and that party aka wedding is in the cards. My lover and I never bothered with the silly dance of proposal and we told our parents that was our decision. I feel respected that way. I'm not a piece of meat or a silly juvineile that needs the romantic cliche to be happy.

Well first of all I'm going to give you some Woman advice, if you want to ask her parents I suggest that you invite them for dinner to a nice restaurant while you girl is busy, maybe tell her your doing something else. Ask them if you have their permission to ask for her hand in marriage. Then depending on what kind of girl she is depends on how you might want to purpose. If she loves to be with family then you might want to do it in front of alot of people like friends and family. If she is more of a shy girl then you might want it to be just you and her...if you want to do something out of the ordinary then maybe a hot air balloon ride with some rocks spelling out "Will you marry me?" or maybe just a quiet evening with the two of you..like more of an intimate setting.

parents: sit them down and say taht you want to ask her to marry you, explain how you'll care for her and love her forever and ask for their blessing.
her: say something from your heart tell her why you want to spend the rest of your life with her.
do it somewhere special: where you guys first met/dated, if she likes skiing take her to the top of a snowy mountain, somewhere above the city where you can look at the moon and stars then grab a star and put it on her finger, you could pay for a special 'movie trailer' with you and/or her/your family asking her to marry you hopefully you can think of some other ideas just make sure it's special to her and you...

Well, my boyfriend said that he wanted to ask my dad first. He said he would tell them how much he loved me and that he wants to marry me/spend his life with me.
As far as asking her, it should be something special that you two share. What about your first date? I was thinking about our first date. We went to play mini golf. It would be nice to relive our first date. How romantic would that be for him to slip an engagement ring down in the hole when I'm not looking and when I reach for my ball, find a ring box instead?

We were in a mall in Hawaii (we lived there) and there grow to be a jewellery keep with a killer sale occurring so we went in to study out some stuff. After figuring out to purchase 2 matching necklaces he requested the clerk if the earrings were on sale too. She suggested certain they were and he informed me to p.c.. one. i did not fairly imagine he grow to be extreme so i found one i fairly loved and tried it on. when I turned around, he grow to be figuring out to purchase it. He basically regarded at me and smiled and that i had a mass case of butterflies. first call her father and ask him to meet you for dinner, tell him of your intentions and ask him for his permission to marry his daughter. If you have not had any problems with the family he should say yes.
After you get his permission ask her.
maybe you could get it on a billboard and drive her to the sign. then park the car in front of the sign, ask her to marry you, and put the ring on her finger (just a thought) of coarse you could always do the nice dinner / down on one knee thing
