Just got engaged and dreading the fact that between us, we have 5 neices and nephews. We want them to be attendants. To avoid a massive family argument, is it ok to ask two cousins to be usherettes? I just thought it is a way to include them, and they can wear a bridesmaid type dress, they just would not walk behind me, that's all. I don't want my wedding looking like a circus with too many attendants.

I'm creating a powerpoint presentation to show my family & my husband's family for our wedding anniversary dinner. I am putting photos of myself & my husband growing up. I plan on showing my husband first, then me, then us together. So, I'm assuming I need at least 3 songs. Please Help!!! Additional information: We are both in our mid 30s... So, a song fron the 60s isn't something that I'm looking for. 80s music and higher is what I'm thinking about....I am open for suggestions!!

I think an open bar will be too expensive, but I was wondering if maybe we could have a table set up of wine. Has anyone been to a wedding/party where that was done? Is it nice or tacky do you think? Or have open bar until dinner is served. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi all!

My best friend is getting married in May (I'm her matron-of-honor) and she asked me to help her think up ideas for wedding favors. Her colors are shades of blue and lavender, and she is in Florida---the wedding will be outside on a terrace overlooking the ocean. It's an afternoon wedding. me and my finace are getting married august 25... i planned on having a maid of honor and 2 bridesmaids. but the problem is i dont know if he is going to be able to find a best man and 2 groomsmen to match up. he has friends, but i guess none he considers to be that close. should i scrap my girls or would it be ok to keep them? i just think having them if he didnt havent anyone would make things unbalanced. help!

How much do you think I should anticipate spending if my reception venue allows me to purchase my own alcohol for my reception. My parents have selected a man for me to marry. All seems good in a way - I have no reason to reject the man as he is from a decent family, has a good job etc. etc...

However, since we met only thrice, I don't feel any connection with him.

How long do you think this connection will take to develop?

I'm also very uncomfortable going through with this marriage foe some reason - i cannot explain it - i'd like the wedding to be put off but I don't want to make my parents feel bad if i oppose and I don't want to ruin the relationship I share with them.

I know they want what is best for me - but fail to understand my feelings.

Kindly let me know how i can avoid or at least delay the wedding till I'm comfortable with the thought of marrying this man.

Also let me know what I can do to feel 'connected' to the man chosen for me. (He lives in different state so we'll be meeting directly on the day of the engagement now.... he is also busy and rarely talks on the phone....)

I just read in the magazine that girls 8-25+ are taking virginity pledges at special balls with their dad. Do you feel this is right or wrong?

My personal thought is if a girl wants to remain a virgin, she can just declare it to herself without telling the world about it.

We are paying for our wedding ouselves and live in S.F CA so it is very pricey. His whole family expects to come which will push our guest list to aprox. 150 + people. They expect a nice reception with alcohol etc but we can't afford this. They all are expecting to be invited and will be very disappointed if we elope. He is Irish Catholic so the traditional wedding thing is very important.All his friends brothers abd sisters have had very large affairs. What should we do ? I want to elope but I don't want to hurt my family especially my mom since I am her only daughter.

I had recently found out that the best man of my wedding had not invited me to be in his bridal party. My wedding was less than a year ago. He is going to have a large wedding about 200 guests. His wedding party has 10 on each side. I never asked him who was in his wedding party because I didn't want it to seem like I was imposing. He has a lot of friends so I figured he was just inviting family in his wedding party in order to avoid the "which friend to invite problem". Which I wouldn't care since family comes first. I checked out his wedding webpage and found that he has invited every close friend but me. I don't want to be the guy who causes problems and it is his wedding but I have been a close friend since grade school and I have helped him out in his wedding planning. This is one of the very few times in my life where I was truly offended. How should I approach this? Should I ask him why I wasn't invited or should I just not bring it up and pretend like everything fine? Thanks

I hated the day...the location I wanted my mother cancelled it and got me a refun b/c she thought it was too expensive. I was left to scramble to find something else....and had to settle for what wouldn't have been my first choice. Too many people giving orders and telkling me what to do I feel disappointed with the whole thing. Its affecting my life now all I do is think and dream about how things could be different.

this might sound little strange to guys but ..i loved a guy .. i was not that serious abt it but i went on to ask my parents for allowing me to marry him.but my parents rejected him due to his caste was different and they were against love marriages since in our family love marriage never succeeded it seems.

now they have fixed my marriage( arranged ) but some where i am missing him dearly.i have not let out any of my feelings to anyone but do any girl in my situation feels same. what do u ppl suggest me to do. i fear my family saying they will commit suicide etc.i came to know the guy suffered very much but ..i don't feel guilty why?

i this normal girls plz help me out ..hope u ppl talk from experience and not idealistic. my bf is good guy. my would be is very good looking
