I will be married in a few months and I am proud to say that I am still a virgin and will remain so until my wedding night. This is a very special thing and I am so very happy that I waited for the one that I will spend the rest of my life with. It is nothing to be ashamed of and yes, even though I have been ridiculed for it, I have stood my ground.

Having sex before marriage is not a rule; it's a part of religion. Most religions forbid sex before marriage but usually it is only for the female because she should be "pure" when given to her husband. It really depends on your religion whether or not it's forbidden. But people still do it. I look at it this way, I'd rather wait for marriage but things happen. You never know who you'll meet and you may just get caught up in the moment. I'd rather wait because then I'll know he's loves me and not just the sex.

My husband and I waited until after marriage, although many of our peers thought this was odd. We came of age when sexual freedom for women was a fairly new idea. We both believe strongly in the Bible command to "abstain from fornication" (Acts 15:20) That means that sex before marriage is wrong. We gave our virginity to one another on our wedding night and have been married now for 33 years.

well, its to late for the "virginity" but I plan to wait until I am engaged to be married... that will be long enough to determine if I want to have sex with this person. But it also allows me to test things out and see if sex makes things better or worse before I get married.

I would say that in the USA having sex before marriage is the standard here. That doesn't mean that the men and women here are having sex with just anyone, but that we are sexually active with someone who is not yet our spouse.

I lost my virginity at 17. I do not regret it and it was the right decision for me at the time.

We do not wait, and I think it is ok. You need to see if you are compatible in bed. You need to know if he is attractive to you and vice-versa. You need to try with many or few people before getting married. Once married you are going to be with him for the rest of your life. and you may want to try something else or new and it is going to be too late.

... probably because there is 100% probability that a woman might not get married in her youths, what with the way men behave these days, it's advisable to look before u leap, i dont know if its possible for a 40year old lady and virgin to get married. Some men prefer virgins, bloddy one for that matter. but a 40yr old virgin (woman) is bloodless (no offence please)
