My sister is getting married in the summer. I was asked to be a bridesmaid and was to pay for my own dress (my mother paid for my sisters dress at my wedding) and that was ok. She phoned me last Wed at 6pm asking for the £80 deposit as the dresses would have to be ordered last week. I said I didnt have £80 & dont get paid till end of month. She made no attempt to ask mother for loan but kept saying that she wants me as a bridesmaid. Now shes ordered the dresses and I dont want to go and see her ***** whore mates do what I was meant to do.
My mother and I dont speak, and I have a car to tax at the end of the month so where am I meant to pull £80 from a week after xmas???
How can I get out of going to the wedding?

My husbands best friend of 16 years is having a baby. They were earning more than us,(she is now too pregnant to work), and have always/ still live well beyond their means. They eat out regularly, rent an aunts house which they haven't paid rent in 3 months, buy designer clothes for them & unborn, have spent $4000 on baby gear,(not including nursery gear)- despite being offered free stuff from a brother who had used his stuff on 1 baby & they just got a personal loan for $20,000- for a car, & a $2000 engagement ring. When we give them advice on how to save, get their own home, save money by buying good quality but less expensive baby items & clothes, buy 2nd hand goods- they brush it off. They say they want only "the best" and it makes me feel like they think we dont want the best for our child or they think their money makes them better than us. We are in a great situation- own home,car-no debt, and they are nearly $40,000 in debt. Should I ignore them & smile or say something?

Recently we have been talking about getting married, but only six months ago we were going through a rough patch and said he wanted to leave the relationship, we live together and have a three year old son and have been with him for 12 years. We starting seeing each other at the age of fifteen and have been together ever since. In our teen years we split up several times and always got back together. We have lived together for seven years and have not split up since my teen years, we have been engaged for 5 years. Now he says he wants to marry me, what should I do.

I am getting married on June 9th, 2007 and my wedding is going to be very elegant, a black and white wedding and I am having trouble picking favors, I know I would like to do matchbooks, but I need something else and I can't find anything that I like and that is elegant. Any suggestions?

i was supposed to get married last Decemeber, but shortly before the wedding my fiance lost his job. My family is very religious and my stepfather said that in order to get his blessing for the wedding my fiance would have to have a job, and our pastor would not marry us without his blessing. So about a week before the wedding we were told we would have to re-schedule it. My bridesmaids had already bought a beautiful sparkly gold dress to go with the christmas theme we were going to have, and now none of them have the money to buy a new dress. How can i include their gold dresses in the color scheme? what colors should i have? oh... and please don't say red, because that is the most common wedding color and i don't like red/white weddings. I want something different and unusual. thanks!

My fiance and I have been engaged for 7 months. This is the 2nd marriage for both of us. He has 2 kids, a 14 yr old boy and a 12 yr old girl. We've decided in lieu of a traditional or ceremonial wedding, we'd like to just take off on a Friday with the kids, go to a spot we all decide and agree upon, get married while we're there, and have a fun honeymoon as a family. I know we'll have to plan ahead for a justice of the peace, but I'm wondering if someone out there may have done something similar and can provide me with some more insight. Can you help?

My colors are green and peach/orange. It's a casual beach wedding in Mexico. My MOH helped narrow it down to 2 dresses.

It's the same dress. One comes in white and is $150 more. The other only comes in ivory. What's your opinion?

I have only been to 2 weddings, and they were done rather tacky, so I don't want to follow the same way. I am having a Christian wedding in a church, but have no idea as to how the actual ceremony is supposed to be. Like from the beginning all the way to the vows to the end, what happens? I am trying to make a program but have no idea what to put. Please help me!

What are some good, nicely priced stores/sites to find wedding dress besides David's Bridal? Everything I find is outdated and ugly or ridiculously priced. I can barely find any sites!
