No, it is not bad luck. It is one of our many fun and playful superstitions associated with weddings and marriages we have passed down for generations. Here is the way this one probably got started:

In ancient times, marriages were arranged by families and were often nothing more than good business deals. It happened more often than not that the first time the couples saw one another was standing at the altar on their wedding day. To ensure the groom wouldn't have second thoughts at the sight of a bride perhaps less attractive than he's assumed, veils were used to cover the bride's face. The veil was not lifted until the very end of the ceremony, only after the groom had already said, "I do."
This is also probably the reason why traditionally why we say it is "bad luck" for the bride and groom to see each other the day of the wedding.

I don't know. I'm a big believer in this tradition. Not so much because it's "bad luck", I just think it's special for the groom to see the bride all dressed up and walking down the aisle. Makes a special moment.

Long ago it was considered bad luck, and most people still follow that tradition of not seeing the bride the day of the wedding, before the ceremony...other couples opt to have private photos taken and don't have a problem with breaking tradition.

I don't think so. My husband and I took our group pics before the wedding just so we didn't have to keep our guests waiting between the ceremony & the reception.

They say that its bad luck, but I think that its just a superstition, that has been past on for years and years. Having said that its best that it doesn't happen because you never know

Absolutely not. It is something someone made up and to this date it is still thought of bad luck.. It is best to let go of that made up black luck list.

Luck? No such thing. If God put them together than no man or luck can come in that marriage.

I dont think its bad luck, its just no fun. i dont think it scars you for life, but walking down the isle, or meadow, or beach, or wherever you are, wont be as fun.
