I am getting married on June 9th, 2007 and my wedding is going to be very elegant, a black and white wedding and I am having trouble picking favors, I know I would like to do matchbooks, but I need something else and I can't find anything that I like and that is elegant. Any suggestions?

Pretty and elegant are glass coasters, wine stoppers, and cut candle holders.

Elegant in it's classic nature is a cut candy dish filled with Jordan almonds. Almonds are a wedding tradition in that the superstition is to eat four almonds will keep a hangover away.

As much as I dislike Martha Stewart...take a look at her things for weddings.
Also google "elegant party favors" with the quotes.
check out some of the wedding mags and books. You can even save a few dollars by going to the local library to check on the books and mags there.

Be sure to inform everyone to wear something nice or formal, nothing to match the theme, that way it stays elegant. I found some sites for tropical wedding themes, it seems very elegant, not at all tacky. hope they help, best of luck!

We are have cookie cutters with the sugar cookie recipe as one of our favors. We picked the leaf cookie cutter because our wedding is in the autumn. But they have hearts are other designed cookie cutters. The sugar cookie recipe is written on a card personalized with the brides and grooms name and wedding date. Jean M has a web site that you can check out. They also have many other favors that you can pick out from. I hope that I helped you out.

I made bookmarks. There are some companies that are online that can make them too. The text on my bookmark said "A new page has been turned in our lives...Thank you for sharing our special day with us"...and then our names and wedding day.

The paper, picture, and edging can make a bookmark very formal. And they're very affordable if you do them yourself. Just design it in Word and take it to Kinkos or Officemax to print them out. Pick whatever color/style of paper you want (thicker than printer paper, thinner than cardstock), cut them up, and add ribbons or whatever you want.

How about bud vases with a single rose in it? Tie a satin ribbon and attach a thank you tag to it. Check Save-on-crafts.

You can put all the vases in the middle of the table as centerpiece and let your guests take them home as the reception ends.

You could do truffles, mints, cookies, or even petit fours in personalized favor boxes or bags. Petit fours is probably the more elegant of those choices.

My wedding was black and white too. There are so many things you could do.... little while candles with black sheer ribbon tied around them (very inexpensive if you buy the candles in bulk)

I'm doing a candy buffet, with my wedding colors. I'm going to get some nice container and decorate them with ribons and stuff like that.
