i was supposed to get married last Decemeber, but shortly before the wedding my fiance lost his job. My family is very religious and my stepfather said that in order to get his blessing for the wedding my fiance would have to have a job, and our pastor would not marry us without his blessing. So about a week before the wedding we were told we would have to re-schedule it. My bridesmaids had already bought a beautiful sparkly gold dress to go with the christmas theme we were going to have, and now none of them have the money to buy a new dress. How can i include their gold dresses in the color scheme? what colors should i have? oh... and please don't say red, because that is the most common wedding color and i don't like red/white weddings. I want something different and unusual. thanks!

stay with the gold dresses and use maybe a rich blue or purple...... that way your dresses can still be used and the colors will stand out. Congratulations also.

I first of all would I like to say that I was in the same situation before I got married.(sort of) You might not want to do it but why don't you just wait till December again the year will fly by so fast and you have time to save for other stuff that you might not have thought about. I had to reschulde my wedding twice because he was deploied twice to Iran. June was the first time I had planned it I choose lavenders, limes, oranges, pinks it was reallly colorful because I think about the springtime and all the pretty flowers and it was kind of in a garden anyway. REally what ever color you choose will go with gold it's like black, white and silver anything will pretty much go with those colors. Good look on your marrige.

My only suggestion would be to put the wedding into December. I know you probably won't want to wait. Sorry-I hope someone else has a more creative answer. Perhaps there is a way to change the look of the gold dresses. Congratulations & good luck.

My advice would be to invest in a color wheel...I know, I know; sounds like an art project gone wrong, right?? Well, a color wheel will actually be able to help a TON!! Your friend cna pick one color she likes and go from there...picking 2, 3, 4 or even 5 colors that go really well together. This can be done with minimal effort and can be a lot of fun. Pick a color that looks closest to your gold dresses and go from there. Congrats!!

It's your wedding and do what you want...Gold is a very classy color for a wedding. Do what you think will go right...you can incorporate gold with practically any color.
(I'm getting married in October and the colors are going to be black and gold HUGE steelers fans) :) but it is really up to you and your fiance.
I think Gold would be fine for a June wedding. Congradulations and good luck!

Definitely stick with the gold dresses and use white as a second color. You can also add a third contrasting color if you wish. Use white lights and make your wedding a "starry magical" ocassion which is will be!!!

Gold would work just fine for June! You can have pretty much any color you want in the flowers. Ask your florist for suggestions, but I really can't think of a summery color that wouldn't look good.

If you have to keep the gold sparkly dresses, i suggest you go with another vibrant colour one, people wont ever forget, i once saw a wedding on tv, where there colour scheme was gold and fusicia.

I agree that black isn't somewhat the best vibe for a summer time BBQ wedding ceremony reception. i might shop the white and silver, and then replace the black with cornflower blue. Or for a probably classic-stimulated look, i might upload a outstanding colour because of the fact the main colour, and then use the different 3 as highlights.
