First of all Tulips are in season Feb-April. They are typically planted in late November through December and bloom late Feb-through April. There is usually no way you are going to find Tulips outside of those months. I am not sure where you live but if you live anywhere in the states this is true. You might find a grower outside the states where the climate is suitable for growth during you time frame--but the cost would be outrageous. Might want to go with a different flower. Sorry and good luck.

Ok I worked in a florist for 2 years, and I can tell you its near impossible for the florist to get them in that time of year.....if not completely impossible, the wholesale houses don't carry them after about may, and if by some miracle you were able to get them, you would pay dearly for them. not to mention they are such a tempermental flower, they will droop and they open up so quickly(like 1 hour after being out of the cooler at times) and I think they look awful once they have opened, and once they have opened, they will be dead within 3 hours. Not to burst your bubble, but I would definetly start looking into either good silk tulips or other flowers! Some off season flowers you can still get, while they are more expensive, you can still get them, but it was my experience that you should just hang it up on the tulips or bump your date back! good luck with it!

I'm not sure if this will help you in any way but. I used silk flowers for my wedding and they are still beautiful. You have the option of picking flowers within your budget and you don't have to worry about season. Plus there are plenty of online websites you can order your flowers from. Still this year with the unusual weather I have seen tulips all over the place so you may get lucky. Good luck I hope your wedding is all you hope it to be.

I just finished choosing flowers for my July 07 wedding, and I can answer with a very knowledgeable YES! I wanted peonies (which bloom in may-early June) but it would have added 20% more to my flower budget. I went with cabbage roses that have a similar look. My florist told me anytime something must be imported it will add big numbers to the floral bill.

"off season" flowers are more expensive than you think.. do you have any other options? or if you want, you can move your wedding date so you can have tulips for your wedding..

I had tulips for my wedding ceremony, yet I have been given married in the month of April. in case you particularly need tulips and that they are no longer in season once you have become married, see if there is another wedding ceremony-appropriate price you are able to shrink back on so as which you will arise with the money for the tulips, if that's what you particularly need. terrific desires to you and your fiancee!

Yes, off season flowers are more expensive. They may also die more quickly as they have to be shipped from further away.

yes, anything you have to order in that's out of season costs more. Also, they may not be able to guarantee getting them. I wanted calla lillies for my wedding, but the florist found out they couldn't guarantee them, so I had to switch.
What about going with silk?

typically it's a yes, more expensive to get "off" season flowers.. but, you can always go with silk flowers, some look incredibly real, plus you can get them in any color.. in some cases it is often cheaper to go with silk flowers than real ones..

You will probably have to pay at least 10% more if you get flowers that are not "in" season.
