Hi all!

My best friend is getting married in May (I'm her matron-of-honor) and she asked me to help her think up ideas for wedding favors. Her colors are shades of blue and lavender, and she is in Florida---the wedding will be outside on a terrace overlooking the ocean. It's an afternoon wedding. She wanted something unique but not too expensive. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!! :)

♥ ♥ candy coated nuts or jelly beans in colors wrapped in a piece of netting tied with a ribbon in the wedding colors....bottles of bubbles, you can get the empty ones at Michaels Craft store, fill and ties ribbons on them...make napkin rings and attach a shell ... you can now get M&M's with your own words on them, just to the their website♥ ♥

Please stay away from stuff wrapped in mesh and organza and things like that- no one wants them! If I get another white candle wrapped in mesh fabric I'm going to scream!

Instead, try doing an internet search for wedding favors. Do something unique and creative, put it all together yourself.

Try www.orientaltrading.com or other surplus catalogs.

You can also burn your own CDs and print labels- one of my favorite ideas.

Go to your craft store, purchase a bunch of inexpensive glass containers, put a silk tropical flower and some beads at the bottom (or whatever) and use it as a goldfish bowl or betta tank. it works as a centerpiece and then you have the dj give them away. At the last wedding I went to, the dj announced that someone from each table was to take out a dollar and start passing it around. When the music stopped, the person holding the dollar was going to get the centerpiece. Except, at the end, he goes "Ok good! Hold up the dollar! Now the person holding the dollar hand the centerpiece to the person who provided the dollar!"

You could also fix tags to the bottom of chairs, etc. Don't bother with hokey little favors. Do something nice!

I went to a wedding in Vermont where the couple gave away small maple-leaf shaped bottles of real syrup. Stuck with the theme, looked classy on the tables, and practical.

Have fun and good luck!

Here are several unique ideas:
Buy small buckets (at any craft store) and filled with either
1)Flip Flop Sugar Cubes
2)Candy Pebbles (cheapest :-)
3) Flip Flop Soaps
4)Flip Flop Candles
Tie a ribbon and a thank-you tag to the bucket handle.

I saw this idea at a site. It was tiny little bottles with corks that were filled with sand and a couple sea shells and little umbrellas (for drinks). They had a little label around the top of the bottle with the names, date, etc. It looked wonderful and was actually very. I was considering this because I'm doing a beach wedding too. If you're going for edible I recommend Ferrero Rocher chocolates in mesh bags tied off with ribbon. Or you can try candles wrapped up or with their wedding name, date, etc. I'm just doing a candy bar, myself. The cellophane bags will be labeled with our info and they can take home whatever they'd like. It's useful... not a souveneir-type fvaor.

Well, since she having a wedding overlooking the ocean why not get some big seashells and line the bottom with blue sand and get some pearl shaped bath oils and a few sprigs of lavender and then wrap them up in piece of mesh and tie with a bow.

I made wine glass gel candles for mine it is very easy and you can make them to your colours they also double as candles for the reception. I made mine smell like vanilla but, you could make hers light blue that smell like lavendar with small shells inside them. Mine were very cheap because I got the glasses for free (I redeemed store points)and I went to get the candle wax at Micheals with the coupons they put in flyers. I did this because I had a lot of people with Diabetes and didn't want to hand out to much candy.

My best friend just used the printed M&Ms(m&ms.com) in her colors, they were adorable and we used them on the hottest day of the summer this past June, and they made it.
We got little tins from www.99centfavors.com and filled them with a mix of her colors and glued (glue dots) a little bow on each. They were adorable.

ETA:I missed that yours was a beach theme wedding, I was consentrating on the heat.
There is a new picture frame out that is shaped like a sailboat, its really cool looking and I believe it is quite cheap, like $.99 (link http://www.bridalweddingfavors.com/sailboat-placecard-frame-favors-dsfc8910.html)
I also recieved a large seashell with a beach scene painted on it and the couples names and date and it was a christmas ornament, I thought that was just the best, but I am a big fan of xmas ornaments.

We handed out bells for everyone to ring as we exited the church. They were little bells with a ribbon tied on, that coordinated with our wedding colors. The sound they made as we walked out was great!
