Im getting married in Feb and would like the pastor to include a a few statements about loved ones who have passed away (My mother died 5 years ago) but im not sure how he would word it. The florist is putting together a bouquet of red carnations which were her fav and Ill be placing them on the first row seat and I would like him to reference the flowers too.I found something online a couple months ago but cant seem to find it now. Does anyone have any sites that might help me or any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I've only met my in-laws to be a couple of times, but they don't really live that far away (not because we all don't get along..but because of my work schedule). The question is, because I've only met them a few times ( and they have ALWAYS been really sweet people) should I go to them and tell them how much I love their son and look forward to making him happy ( we just got engaged this past week) or should I just let it go. Would it look like I was trying to hard, or would it be a sweet gesture?

I want to know if its considered tacky with invitations to insert a small card that says "Your love is our treasured gift, it is all we request" because we dont want any gifts for our party. We just want everyone to come, eat and have a great time.
I know its taboo to mention gifts, but I dont know if that applies to saying no gifts needed to attend our party.

Anyone have any advice or experience with this.

Also, if you have gotten an invitation that said no gifts, what was your reaction to it?

I'm afraid of marriage for many reasons. The biggest one is having to get permission in order to spend my money my way without permission like I did when I was a kid. What are people's experience with this? One of my friends just gives his wife the finger when she complains about his spending. I like guys who put women in their places.....I need to learn.

I am not being selfish, but this girl is so self-centered. She complains about everything, and right after my wedding, they broke it off. She had her mom call him up and begged him to give her another chance. My brother is the sweetest, most down to earth guy. All she loves to do is shop, *****, and anything that she wants, she has to have. My whole family feels this way, but we're afraid to push him away. I know love is blind, but damn, he can't see things right in front of him. I don't know what to do, because I can't stand to be a bridesmaid in their upcoming wedding when I think it'll fail. Her brother got married two mos ago, and filed for divorce 6 weeks into it. I don't want him to make the same mistake. I love him and he needs a down to earth outdoorsy girl. Can anyone offer some advice or help?

I am looking to see if anyone has any cool, but unique gift ideas for attendants for our wedding. We do not want to do the beer mug, shot glass, stein, ect. it just seems over done -- any "NEW" ideas out there? Price Range is under $100 per person

What is a miniature bride and groom? What do they wear and how do they differ from a bridesmaid or a flower girl?

Ok, I'm getting married August 11th in the south. My dress is a slightly two tones ivory/caffe colored dress. Its strappless with a beaded top part, and the bottom half is satin and smooth. Im prob gettingmarried in the evening, but unsure. What would look good for wedding colors in the hot summer, with a dress my color and it not being 'white'. I was thinking black brides maids dresses with all of us having red roses but im a little afraid it wont look that great. I was wanting to make it look 'southern' and 'summery' but my dress to me is a little more fancy than a clean, simple 'summer' dress. Any suggestions?

Ok, so me and my ex broke up 2 months ago. We are on good terms, and there is no bitterness. His sister (who I am very good friends with) is getting married in two weeks and I would really like to go to the reception- I have already told her I won't be coming to the wedding, even though she would like me to, as I don't feel it approriate. However I would like to go to the evening, but this would mean going along with my ex's friends and girlfriends. I am friends with all of them, and his friends wife and I are very close. Do you think it would be inapproriate to go to the reception? I am going on her hen weekend this week, so I would feel bad for not going to some part of the wedding, and plus I want to see her on her special day. My ex says he is fine with this, and I am still friends with his family? What do you think?

I am getting married in Edmonton, Alberta and we are going to be having the reception at the Hotel MacDonald but we have no idea where to hold the ceremony. It can be at a church or building just somewhere beautiful and indoors. Any ideas?

Okay, so my fiance and I are planning this huge wedding in July (we have been engaged since Feb '04 with the date set) and we just found out that he lost his job on Jan 2. So, we will be okay financially until he finds another job, but we are facing a dilemma. He needs to take 3 prescriptions each month, and his insurance will run out Feb 2. He is eligible for COBRA, but it is WAY too expensive. So, we are planning a courthouse wedding so that I can add him to my insurance. We are still planning on having the big ceremony in July, and we really don't want a lot of people to know that we are legally married ahead of time, but do I tell my mom?

My boyfriend of 5 years asked me to marry him. I love him lots and he is so sweet but I am only 17. What should I say? He is so sweet and doesn't want me to rush but would like an answer by the end of the month if possible.

came up with a budget and offered help.... the thing has tripled itself with costs of rehearsal dinner, shower gift, engagemt dinner, our event clothes, and other things that are definitely about the wedding but but not part of "the day". So much of the budget is rough est---any one item can cost as much as the whole thing! I need to rethink it, experience? (its still early). Also, I don't know how much to include his family and how to do so without giving the impression I am also giving over control. I casually discussed places we are considering for catering and groom's mom was there the next morning! not only that she asked the caterer if she could bring in a tv for the kids and pizza.....I have already told my daughter that is a negative. I am feeling slightly steamrolled--don't know what to expect--- Ideas for helping make this fun and friendly for both families....ways to make them feel comfortable, included. whats your experience?

I know typically the bride's parents are the ones requesting presence at the wedding and so on, but my parents don't approve of my fiance and want nothing to do with it (or him). What's a good way to word the invitations? His father recently passed away and his mother cannot help us financially, though we do have her support. How should the invitations be worded?

on ground hogs day. It's a Friday and her step mother is having a hissy fit. Says that nobody can come on a Friday, yet my son's side of the family is all able to make it. Not sure what my question is but my soon to be daughter is very stressed and wants to go to a JP. What is the best way for me to help the decide or should I just stay out of it. I have a very good relationship with both of them
