I'm afraid of marriage for many reasons. The biggest one is having to get permission in order to spend my money my way without permission like I did when I was a kid. What are people's experience with this? One of my friends just gives his wife the finger when she complains about his spending. I like guys who put women in their places.....I need to learn.

I was afraid of marriage for the same reason. The first time my hubby started freaking out about my buying something with my earnings, I went nuts!!
Who did he think he was? What was he a caveman? Shall I tell him how to spend his money? Wow I just went off like a roman candle!
I make plenty of money and don't want anyone telling me what to do on just about anything. Never mind giving me a hard time about it.
Sooo, marriage isn't for me. Sure maybe there's a guy out there somewhere who won't try to boss me, but I haven't met him.
Marriage is really great for people who aren't SUPER independent. If you think you're not going to like it, then my experience tells me your going to hate it.
Good luck putting a woman in her place. We have a way of popping up all over the place, so as soon as you get us put, we pop up right where you didn't want us even more than last time.
Or maybe that's just me...ha ha...why don't you try it a few times and get back to me on that?

Good luck!

Yes, you should be afraid of marriage until you have had enough time to be on your own and have some good times and not have to share your money, when you get married both the man and woman's money goes in the same pot and she has to do just like you. When you find the right person the last thing on your mind will be sharing your money. Good Luck!!

you need to learn alot 50/50 these days, women are so much more empowered and if you want a relationship where you are calling each other names, giving fingers to thats a marriage heading straight for divorce. tell everything up-front your hopes and desires what you will do and won't do make sure cards are completly on the table. suggest seperate check-books you pay some bills she pays others. there are alot of things you can do.
and if i had to guess i think you are not that way, you bothered to post a question on here didn't you? home is a haven a warm spot and you can make it that way or make it hell. just never underestimate the power of a woman.

I have a lot friends who would leave their wives tonight if it wasn't for their children. Women will spend more money on themselves than men with the ridiculous lie that they want to look good for you. I that was true she would be fixed up around the house rather than wearing sweat until we go out.
If she is already talking about money it will get worse when you get married.

You should be even more afraid of the divorce that comes later. Then you won't have to worry about getting permission to spend your money - it will all go to your ex-wife, who will probably hate you but will be happy to take your money anyway, and you will live in poverty and loneliness. Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!

One situation with your friend shouldn't scare you away from marriage. Of course people get afraid of marriage once in a while, but if it doesn't work out there is always a divorce!

u get to be with the one u love, u found them, u don't have to look or worry or whatever. What's there to be afraid of? Just compromise on things.
