My fiancee and I are giong to get married and want to involve our godparents. Are there any specific roles or special positions that these people can fill in the wedding so that we can honor them in our ceremony?

Hello,
I have a question, and please tell me what you all think: My husband and I were married about 9 months ago. The day of our wedding, I was in the church, in a room with my sister, and she was helping me change into my gown. My fiance came up the steps, knocked on the door, and I ran to the other side of the room (the door had a window in it) so he wouldn't see me. My sister, slightlly panicked, forcefully said, "You! Out!" to him, as if she was talking to a small child. (She has two young toddler-age sons). After he left the area, I resumed getting ready to make my grand entrance at the church. When I did see my fiance at the church, after exclaiming over my gown, he whispered, 'Your sister really hurt my feelings.' I I said him it was just her style to be blunt, don't take it personally. I thought that was the end of it. After all this time, he mentioned it again, saying that it was one of the main memories he had. This hurt me-it was so trivial. Or am I being insensitive now?

My fiance and i have planned a wedding for June of 2009. i want to strt looking for locations now so we can figure out what we'll need for the budget of the rest of the wedding. he seems to feel that it's not a big deal and that we have more than enough time. but don't you have to book a lot of places at least a year ahead of time to make sure you get your date? and am i being absolutely ridiculous for looking for things now, when the wedding is over 2 years away? we can't even decide on a general location!! except that we'd both like the ceremony to be outdoors, which would require us to have a backup location incase it rains! AGH! how do you go about figuring it all out?

I need to buy 120 candles, and 120 candle holders and I am trying to find them as cheap as possible. Any ideas of where to look? So far Wal-Mart is the cheapest at 50 cents each.

I would really like to have a dessert reception, but when I mentioned it to my dad, he hated the idea (let me just say, the guy is big on food). My fiancee and I are paying for the wedding, so I don't want his approval due to money issues. I just want to make sure that none of my guests will have the same reaction. Has anyone ever had a dessert reception? What did you serve? Did the guests like it? What time did you hold the reception?

I am getting married next spring. I handpainted wooden boxes with my bridesmaids names on them and filled the boxes with some of their favorite things (lotion, insense, teddy bears, earrings, just odds and ends), but what in the world do I get for the guys in my wedding that can be just a thoughtful?

I am 17 and still in full-time education. He has recently proposed and i said yes, but do you think its too soon, or are we too young, or does it even matter how old you are or how soon it is too get engaged? We both are really serious about eachother.

We had about 300 photos taken and the photo shoot cost was $500 and the pictures were about the same = $1000 total. What is normal?

Is it normal to want to save your wedding dress after the wedding? It's not like it'll ever be worn again so I am having a hard time understanding why my wife wants to pay $200 to have hers cleaned & packaged for preservation. Is this normal? What is the reasoning behind it? If it is a fairly normal thing to do, is $200 a fair price?
