Weddings - December 2006

I am getting married May 12th and want to go with something cheap and easy for a 'self serve' meal. I got to thinking and I think I want to do bread bowls and two different types of soup. Do you think its okay to have soup since it will be may? I live in Indiana so it won't be too hot yet, and it is inside.

If you don't think it would matter, what types of soup do you think I should serve?
There will be about 175-200 people present

I asked a question not too long ago and it was misconstrued. I need a song for my son and I. I am getting married and he is walking me down the aisle. The song is not for him walking me but for our dance together. I hope that clears this up because I am getting a lot of people telling me that I should focus on my husband to be and not my son. It was not my intent. I am looking for a song to dance to with my son. Sorry for the misunderstanding. So with that said - anyone know a good song that I could have played at MY wedding so I can dance with my son.

my reception location has a large hooded stove in the middle of the room. its copper and about the size of a normal-sized car. it is shaped like a tent-shelter. so ... 4 posts and a roof (the hood). I have no idea how to decorate it and make it look nice for the wedding. my colors are silver, navy, pink, and green (green will be ONLY in plant work).
Any ideas for a quick fix that doesn't cost much?

A while ago now someone told me that its bad luck to wear silver and gold jewllery together. For example a silver ring and a Gold ring on the same hand same with necklaces.
I was just woundering if anyone has heard of this before ?
The thing is im getting married next year and at the moment my engagement ring is White Gold, but most of the wedding rings i have seen have been gold and I was thinking would it be bad luck to get a gold wedding ring when I have a white gold ring for my engagement ring. I know your suppose to get the same colour as your engagement ring but at the time i never really liked gold when now i do. Thanks for your help.

The reason I ask is because my fiance and I have lived together for over 3 years, so we have most of the stuff that you would ask for on your registry. I would hate to just get new stuff just to get it, and it would be much more helpful if family and friends helped by giving money to put towards wedding expenses. And if you did this, how would you go about asking for it?

I feel my fiance is not interested in me anymore!!!!! i think it's because we are too close to each other....& we have had too much time together!!! i know him since 5 yrs & just recently got engaged.....i think he is just taking me for granted now....

A man I've been dating for the past 5 years has declared his intentions to marry me. We are both in our late 30s, and I have a lot of affection for him but he is so boring! However, he loves me and thinks the world of me, has a good job and is very reliable and has no habits that I can't stand. I don't find him intellectually stimulating at all (he's good and simple in a Forrest Gump kinda way), but I'd like to raise a child and start a family and I feel as though I'm running out of time. He's keen to do the same and has just proposed. He would make a reliable husband and father, but I am worried that we will drift apart from sheer boredom. Since he's a good person should I marry him and just make the best of it? Am I justified in having mixed feelings or do I just not appreciate how lucky I really am? Help!

My fiance and i are getting married in less than a month, and we (along with my family) have paid for everything in the wedding so far, and my fiance's family doesn't want to help at all so he feels like they are abandoning him when he needs them most. He has tried talking to them, but nothing works. I know they make more than enough money a year, and i know that they could atleast help us out some. We aren't expecting a lot, but since he's only 20 and i'm only 18, we don't have high-paying careers yet, and anything helps. We both really don't mind so much about the money because in the end we are still going to be married and together, but i don't know how to help my fiance overcome this hatred that is building for his family. I thought about maybe talking to them myself but i wouldn't know what to say. He's had the hardest life of anyone i've met, and i hate him being like this. is there anything i can do to help? I've tried talking to him which helps, but i don't know what to say...
