Not the first marriage for eithe of us and we want to do an intimate, quiet, dinner ceremony with NO CHILDREN. Our own children won't even be there.
Will family members invited who have children be offended? And if WE pay for the dinner, does it matter?

My fiance and I are facing an issue with planning a wedding.
We live in the lower peninsula of Michigan (Cadillac, if you want to mapquest it or something). My friends and immediate family are local to us currently, as well as 2 hours to the south. His family and closest friends, however, are located in the upper peninsula, close to Wisconsin--about an 8 hour drive. The problem this presents is: Where should we have our wedding? If we did it in one place or the other, it would obviously be difficult for the side furthest away. The idea of doing it somewhere in the middle is possible, but I've been involved in planning two weddings, and I would not look forward to the added difficulty of planning one 3 or 4 hours from the venue.
Luckily, our engagement shall be long, so we're not tied to any sort of real deadline right now. Even so, we'd like to work out some solutions before it the date is dangerously close. Anyone who has been through a similar situation, or simply has some ideas?

We need to save as much as posible.
We found the most perfect place. They are willing to work with us, since are wedding is on a Friday and because the guest list is huge (you spend the same amout of money when you pay $20 a person and there is 300, as you would paying $60/person when there is 100).

I would like ideas that are:
Fun
Unique
Retalitivly Formal

and will cost at the most $30/person... (open bar required)

Are sites typical reception is $59/person
it has: 2 entrees, 3 sides, salad or soup, bread, and 3 hours open bar.

Me and my bf have been together for years (nearly 7) now and we have just brought a house together, we are planning on starting a family soon, (ttc now) and im having a lot of ppl say that its wrong and we should get married before we have children, but I know my bf is not the romantic type and I know he wont pop the question unless I ask but that’s not really romantic so, I was thinking is it bad luck or even just wrong for me to ask him?

I mean like I would make it a special occasion and not just ask him but I just want to know what some others think?

I am having my wedding album made professionally but for my mother, his mother and his sister I wanted to make simple books for them as keepsakes. Any one know anywhere that sells- a fully assembled book that you can just slip the pictures in?? I can only find the ones where you have to order all the mats seperately which is not only a pain but pricey!! Do they make such a thing or am I dreaming??
I am looking for a white traditional looking album fully assemble with all the mats- pre cut.

He was talking to his friend that he was feeling so much pressure for getting married, and he doesn't want to do it. Even I have asked him so many times, he doesn't tell me what's on his mind. he acts like everything is good to go. He was the one started talking about getting married while he was in Iraq, and also we have been in the long distance relationship for more than 2 years. We both know that getting married is the only way to be together. I need to know what's on his mind. How can I know his mind? If he doesn't want to get married, I want him to tell me that. Now I am in middle of nowhere and tottaly lost.

I know they all married men who are a little below their grade and pay level, but they are considered some of the most 'beautiful' women in the world! Look at Halle Berry, Christie Brinkley and J-Lo: all married more than once and divorced several times! How does the 'average' looking woman keep up and keep her man!!??
*side note: (~maybe having pre-wedding jitters, I know not to compare our lives to the lives of 'hollywood wives'-but they--the hollywood gals-- are still women who felt like (as we do) that they are/were in love and this man would be the man of their dreams forever--like we feel/felt -before/after the wedding- about our men!)

I have a platinum and diamond engagement ring, and because it is shaped, it have to get a shaped platinum wedding ring. We have already picked that so its fine. My partner wants to find a ring now but he's not sure about getting platinum himself as his ring will be nearly 1000 pounds. He was thinking of gold as there's one he likes, but he's worried that our rings should match. Are they supposed to match or does it not matter?

Is 10 months enough time for a medium-sized wedding? How much advance notice do you need to give the photographer, dj, place of reception, etc.?

I got married about a month ago and paid our baker a month and a half ago. I had to get the payment to her the week before the wedding. I sent it off and never heard from her, I spoke with her on the Wednesday before our wedding and she told me she had received payment!!

So now it's been a little over six weeks since I sent the payment in and four and a half weeks since our wedding. Yesterday my check had been returned in the mail, I checked my account and it obviously had never been cashed!! She hasn't called and I really don't know what to do!!

I know this might sound bad, but our cake was only about $250 and I had already paid her 1/3rd of the cost as a deposit! I know that is probably all it cost to make the cake, the rest was probably her profit.

My question is do I resend her payment? or just wait and see if she ever realizes her mistake and calls? I can't help but feel bad if I keep it, but at the same time, it was her mistake for being careless with her buisness.

My friend is getting married and it will be her second time. (second for the man as well but not to each other) Her first marriage ended after her husband cheated and left her. Some people have criticized her plans. (a fancy dress, lots of guests, photographer, held at a fancy hotel) She feels she was cheated the first time because she was pushed into the marriage and then he left her. (she was expecting a baby and very young the first time) They are very kind and generous people who will host a wonderful reception. Should others complain just because it isn't her first wedding?
