My daughter is getting married in May. She wants to have as nice a wedding as possible but the budget is pretty small. We have about $3,000 total for everything. Any ideas of do-it-yourself money saving ideas for decorations, etc.? Thanks a million!!

Some people said I should talk to my boyfriend about this whole "engagement" thing... so we are on the same page.

I'm a little hesitant about that though. I'm scared I'll end up ruining a plan he has (IF he even has a plan).

Or I'm scared that I'm asking too much of him too "soon." We've been together for 9 months. He's asked me to marry him several times. No ring. We always talk like we're already engaged. Our future house, kids, pets, etc. I'm a little confused. Why are we talking like this if we're not even officially engaged? Is this normal?

Or maybe I'm getting all hyped about this because everyone else seems to be getting engaged (after only 1 month, 5 months, and 8 months)... and I feel like I have to be engaged too. I mean, I've even been with my boyfriend for longer.

I don't know... why am I feeling like this??

My boyfriend and I have been together for 9 months. We're in our early 20s. We talk as if we're already engaged. We talk about our future kids, our future pets, our future home, etc. He's asked me to marry him several times already. It's the cutest thing. I say yes everytime. So we're pretty much practically engaged already. But it's not OFFICIAL to the point we tell everyone that we're each other's fiances. Nothing like that.

I see girls sporting around their expensive diamond rings saying, "Yes. I'm engaged." It made me wonder... do girls HAVE to have that ring to make it an official engagement??

I am not a materialistic girl so I could care less about rings. My boyfriend knows this too. But I know a ring is inevitable. He's paying for college by himself. I understand his financial situation.

Is it necessary to have that ring on your ring finger in order to be officially engaged? Besides... how long were you with your S.O. before the engagement?

I need help on pricing issues.. my girlfriends best friend sent me an email telling me what exact ring my girl would like. But I do not know how much they cost or where to buy it. Here this is what she put, can you help me please? or give me a ball park figure?

the email said.....
“I was looking at a jewelry catalog that came in the mail and decided what I like. A Princess cut ¾ to 1ct, white gold, single diamond.”

I reconnected with an old friend who is getting married and I want to throw her a bachlorette party. She's never really been into the bar scene, has never been to a strip club (male or female) and doesn't like to party really. When I suggested the party, she didn't oppose and seemed kind of curious about the whole thing but I know she's a bit skeptical about it. I think she would have fun at a strip club if she was with the right people and if not we'll leave and go somewhere else. I just wanna get her out of her shell for a bit. Any suggestions on what to do before (or even the whole night if she totally opposes to a strip club) and should we tell her where we plan on taking her or just let the night happen and see how she's doing? Or any other suggestions other then the typical bars and strip clubs?

He is in Iraq for the 4th time and he married before during the same circumstances. It seems like a pattern. IRAQ-Marriage- IRAQ-wife cheats, empties bank account-Divorce. The same pattern is happening now. I dont wanna be part of this one. I told him I would go in an email just because he's in the middle of the war and I don't wanna put his spirits down. I really don't wanna go.

We are going out of town to have our wedding and close friends and family members will be there.
But he wants to invite his ex-wife to go.
They were married about 6 years ago for less than a year. They have a son that is 11.
Now the ex is remarried with more kids.
they are "friends" I guess you could say...they talk when they have to
the excuse for her to go is that his son needs to be there.
BUT we have grandmas and grandpas and great grammas, aunts, uncles..
We have a lot of kids going and lots of people to care for them.
I dont want her or her new family there. I feel that I am always going to be the 2nd wife and for my wedding day I want it to just be me. Am I wrong?/
We were never invited to her wedding!!!!!!
Sometimes I feel like she always has to stick her nose in
Its our wedding day I want to be the only one. What do you guys think?
