Does anyone have any ideas for wedding reception centerpieces for long rectangle tables?

I've decorated a few weddings with long tables recently. What I did was work with each table as if it was two "sqaure" tables and decorated down the center or each square. Each side of the table had a small centerpiece with a small votive holder on each side and for the last wedding, rose petals scattered along the length of the table. This way, the table looks even, and when more then one table is placed end to end, they still look even:) You can see some pics from the last wedding at the link below

You can lay small mirrors all along the center of the tables, then you can put candle votives on top of the mirrors -- kind of like a sprinkling effect and then you can do small arrangements of flowers in low vases (shorties) or small arragements laying down the centers of the tables. You can save $$$ by sprinking rose petals instead of the whole flower arrangement. This will enable your guests at opposite ends of the table to still see each other while talking vs. having tall centerpieces that will obstruct a view.

Okay i just came from a Fire academy graduation party and the did a great thing, that would look great for your wedding.... they had vases of flowers, but you could use red roses to keep it elegant, but they made the vases look like fireman helmets.. ... they looked so cute. I think with a nice arrangment and those vases, the centerpieces will be the highlight of the night...

Put a runner down the center of the table. Then, using your own good taste, lay down single red and white roses on the runner. and some small candles in red/white every so often. This will solve the problem for centerpieces (it will be one long tasteful centerpiece), and look pleasing to the eye.

Depending on the full length of the table--short centerpiece--bowl or round vase(clear)red votive candle--white pebbles around candle.Get some red and white grafetti and sprinkle it up and down the table..When you light the candle it will look very nice.depending on the flowers used, you can put flower rings around your vase for extra color....Good luck...

Try tall pillar like candles (but the square ones to flow with the rectangular tables) and a few pretty bowls with red & white votives floating in it. You could put red flowers around the bowls and have tall white candles.

I don't like the cluttered or overly thematic look, so I'd try something simple. Try white tableclothes, red fabric runners (try a luxurious fabric like silk) and maybe add some silver or chrome votive holders. I think you might need that accent color--red and white alone seems a little stark and might need to be broken up a little.

I used fresh flowers in simple glass vases and framed photos of my husband and me in varous locations. People took all that stuff home at the end of the night and they were delighted to have it, as we were delighted not to be stuck with them after the party.

You can do wreaths and maybe do a couple per table with candles in the center of them. Very pretty!
