I had my honeymoon in Australia, because I'm Australian! :)
Depending on what time of year you go, there are several options.
The Whitsundays in Queensland - a group of islands on the Great Barrier Reef that are just magical - would be perfect in September through to February.
March through to August would be a great time for the Blue Mountains in Sydney or the Bunya Mountains in Queensland. They have little chalets and wine tastings and things - very romantic.
There are cruises you can take from anywhere along the east coast of Australia that are a lot of fun.
The possibilities are really endless.
If you need any help or info planning your trip please go to my profile and send me an email - I'd be happy to help.

I've not been to Australia. I would just like to give you a tip, though, about taking an expensive honeymoon. If you plan to never leave the resort, or to only do activities that you can do almost anywhere, don't spend the extra money on airfare. Go to the cheapest location possible that offers the same climate and activities.

substitute your honeymoon plans and do something low fee. through fact of this i think of certainly everyone getting married could pay for his or her very own wedding ceremony and not remember on others to accomplish that. We ended up spending basically a pair of days faraway from residing house in a hotel approximately 50 miles away after our wedding ceremony and characteristic been "honeymooning" at residing house over the final 11 months. we've deliberate a extra tricky, longer holiday it is already paid in complete to rejoice our first anniversary in 4 weeks.

OMG YES....Definitely worth going.
The wife and I did 2 week in Australia. Go thru travel agent. Roughly $8000 total for hotel, travel, tours, for 3 cities.
We went to Sydney, Cairns, and Brisbane (Gold Coast). We dove the Great Barrier Reef, went to the Blue Mountains, Katoomba, toured the rain forest. I recommend skimping on the hotel...You only need a bed to sleep in. The rest of your time will be soaking up the sights.

Yes do it definately!! Port Douglas in Queensland is awesome its far better than being stuck on an island, you have cocktails on the beach, rainforrests to discover, sea sport and so much more. It is fantastic there you would love it, its perfect for a honeymoon. p.s. get a good travel agent though!!!!!

I'm from Australia and I think it is cool here! I'd go to Queensland (even though I live in Victoria) because that is our favorite tourist spot. It has amusement parks and it's really well known for Surfers Paradise. Make sure you go diving along the Great Barrier Reef that's cool also. I think Australia is a great choice!!!!

I haven't been personally, but I know people who have. They had a wonderful time, but it is a very very expensive trip. So be prepared to drop a bucket of money on it.
