Can someone please tell me what this means: a valid marriage contract cannot exist between baptized persons without its being by that very fact a sacrament.

You do not state what religion this is.

There are some faiths such as Catholics that will not recognize a marriage outside their church, and that you must get permission also to recognize the divorce. I'm not quite sure about all the details.

If you are legally divorced then you should have no problem getting remarried. You just need to find the right church/minister.

Some ministers cannot & will not marry a couple unless they adhere to the church's particular beliefs.
You need to talk with the clergy of the church you want to rent to see what their requirements.

You could choose another place to have your wedding. There are so many venues; hotel, B &B, farm, garden, home, ship (and no captains can't perform marriages) even the reception hall. I'm doing a wedding like this in a couple of weeks.

In your search engine type in your city, state & wedding officiant. Some of us are also listed on bridal sites. If you see someone that you might like, visit their web site. Some of those sites make us pay for your information. That's why some brides never get contacted.

If you are talking about the Catholic church, there might be some problems...they do require in some cases that you have an annulment of your first marriage. In the Christian church, however, there is usually no requirements other than you attend pre-marriage counseling for the required number of weeks before you marry. I was remarried and I had a beautiful church wedding, and it was my only ever church wedding and I am so glad to have the memories. Prayers =)

Are you talking about the Catholic church? It means that it is not a sacrament and doesn't count as being married in the church's eyes until/unless it is at the church. You can get married in the church.

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean...

But if you have been married once before, it depends on the church and the pastor. Some pastors are very strict and will not marry someone who has already been married once before but other pastors have no problem with it. Some pastors will marry you but not within a church building. I know someone who got married in the living room of her soon to be in-law's house because she had been married before and their church wouldn't marry them inside a church. If one pastor turns you down, keep looking.

You should be able to marry where ever you want.Just find the church and talk to the head person about the cost and such..About the VAID MARRIAGE CONTRACT, I would think if your first marriage was annulled---that you no longer have a valid anything. When your driver license are in- valid, they are no longer good to use...Good luck.....

Some churches will allow it, others won't. You'll just have to ask the people over the church that you want to get married in.

Depends on the church and their laws. But think of it this way, would you want to get married in a place that didn't want to marry you to the person you love?

I left the synagogue I grew up in because they wouldn't marry me to my wonderful husband (because he's not Jewish). We found a different synagogue, and actually ended up getting married by both a minister and a cantor in my parents' house.

As long as you are not catholic you can get married in any damn church you want.

this sounds like a question only a church minister, or better yet, a catholic priest can answer.
