That's all we did... we danced to Lionel Richie's "Stuck on You."

Perfect lyrics for how we feel about eachother (we were in our 30s when we met; he was supposed to be a "decoy" to get rid of a loser I was dating)

STUCK ON YOU
By: Lionel Richie
Stuck on you
I've got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can't lose
Guess I'm on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess I'll be with you 'til the end
Guess I'm on my way
Mighty glad you stayed

I'm stuck on you
Been a fool too long I guess it's time for me to come on home
Guess I'm on my way
So hard to see
That a woman like you could wait around for a man like me
Guess I'm on my way
Mighty glad you stayed

Oh, I'm leaving on that midnight train tomorrow
And I know just where I'm going
I've packed up my troubles and I've thrown them all away
Cause this time little darling
I'm coming home to stay

I'm stuck on you
I've got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can't lose
Guess I'm on my way
Needed a friend
And the way I feel now I guess I'll be with you 'til the end
Guess I'm on my way
I'm mighty glad you stayed

Try something instrumental ... Kenny G has some great slow, but not too long ballads that don't have words so you won't feel as though you have to be tied to the lyrics.

And yes, you can slow dance on the spot and hold each other. If you don't want to dance but you want to recognize each other, you could have a photo montage of you dating, being engaged, etc. leading up to the wedding.

A lot of couples are opting to take dance lessons...pick a form of dance that you think expresses you both, as a couple. Your instructor will be more than happy to come up with a routine for you both (because that is really what you'd be paying for) and that way you will have a dance laid out for you, that you've been practicing, for the big day!! It is a lot of fun and allows couples to inject their own bits of creativity and a signature, if you will, into the reception. Go for something fun, like salsa, that you wouldn't normally do.

Your wedding dance doesn't have to be anything specific, you can choose to slow dance to something that when you hear the words it reminds you of your husband. A lot of people choose Shania Twain's Still the One. It's really pretty and slow. Kenny G might be good. or anything with a nice slow melody that you enjoy. I'm sure you can do a search for good wedding music.

YOu don't need to KNOW how to dance, but you can LEARN how to dance.
Take an actual class on a particular dance. The Tango is a terrific wedding dance! Just think how surprised your guests will be when the bride and groom's first dance is the Tango!!

Absolutely! No one expects you and your groom to be Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers at your reception. Find a song you love and dance to it. Or, consider doing a song with an instrumental middle section where you can invite other couples onto the floor and disappear in the wave of other happy twosomes.

PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!
Just hold him around his shoulders, he'll hold your waist & slowly sway side to side. Smile, hug each other, look into each others eyes..and just b happy!! Those moments will never repeat themselves!! So make mistakes! or b perfect! It's never going to come to pass again...
Now the Music, ANYTHING by Frank Sinatra, Barbara Striesand, Celine Deon, Andreas Bocielli, Selena, etc..is going to automatically be perfect.
* truly the dance that everyone watches is the bride w/ her father*

You should dance to whatever song makes you think of your honey and most people don't know how to really dance. So just get out there and fake it till you make it. Congratulations!

I agree with most of the answers that everyone gave, but depending how much time you have before you gt married, take basic lessons.

One of the most beautiful things I ever saw at a wedding was when my friend and her husband did a formal waltz. They took lessons!
