Im a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding. I think the price of her wedding is going to be $40,000. There doing 5 hr open bar, lots of fancy food, dinner rehearsal, etc.
Im having a baby 6 month before the wedding so my boyfriend and i will be tight on money.
Do you think $200 is a good amount? I dont want to be cheap

I am true roman catholic.Since when i was young i'm always dreaming to have a church wedding when i get married no matter how simple it is as long as i have the blessings. I served our local parish church & a cathechist. When the time came for my dream to be true, the world turns down on me. The wedding dream of mine has become the most embarrassing tragic in my life especially to my husband who's a foreign in my country and not a catholic as well.
We supposed to have a so called mix married in my church. A day before our wedding day, the priest just phone me to come to his office at the church. What a sad surprise for that call that he refuses the wedding for the reason that my husband have not completed the 10 days policy of the church of the registration of our wedding he's lucking 1 day, but he already knew and he told us that's fine and he signed all the documentary papers from the chancery. So he just told me that he's not thinking properly at that moment when he signed

my bf of 2 years proposed to me a few months ago. we are both 19 and are still getting our qualifications etc, so dont have the money to have a big fancy wedding. i always thought i wanted a huge wedding but now we just want to elope to Portugal (where he's from). however, his family are very traditional and are already upset he's not marrying a Portuguese girl. i dont really give a **** what they think of me, but im worried they will be upset with him and i do not want this to happen. he says he doesnt care but deep down i know he does. i believe a wedding is about 2 ppl and thats all that matters. do you guys reckon we should plan a big traditional wedding to appease his family or just go for it and deal with the consequences?

Hey. My close friend is getting married next summer. I wonder, should I be planning his Bachelor Party? Whose responsibility is that generally? I want to be a good friend, so if I should step up I want to know. What does tradition say?

My dtr had planned a big wedding for 7-7-07. Now she has changed her mind and wants to get married around x-mas. These dresses are baha coral and banana. Does anyone know if I can dye them to a red or totally take the color out to go to a beige or cream. I am just not sure what I am suppose to do with 900.00 in dresses that will not go with a x-mas wedding. Any ideas?

I'm planning on proposing to a girl and since I'm a pretty traditional guy and she's a pretty traditional girl, I want to ask her dad/parents for their blessing before we get married. The problem is, he lives 4 hours away and I'm not sure how I'm going to get away from her, sneak up there to talk with him, and get back without her knowing what I just did. The other problem is that without calling and talking with them ahead of time, I can't really be certain they'll be home when I can get away and don't want to drive up there to visit an empty house. I suppose I could call him ahead of time and say that I'm coming up to visit but since her sister just got married, I'm pretty sure he would know what to expect once I got there... All of this being said, is it ok to just call her dad and talk with him about this or is it still the best to do it in person?

We are family oriented and would not want to compromise Mother's day. I feel a wedding that weekend (the day before) will put a hardship on people financially and physically (... that is if they're going to have a good time at the reception).

I am getting married in Kentucky, but currently live in Alaska for graduate school. Since moving to Alaska, my fiancee and I have made many friends that obvisouly will be unable to travel to our wedding (as it costs over $500 to fly there). Do we still invite them, or will it seem like we are simply asking for gifts?

Would you like a diamond or something different?

My husband is Persian and I'm Australian. Australians like myself love diamonds but Persians are sooo into gold and when he went to Iran he bought me a wedding ring but he has no idea about diamonds.

He bought a zerconia one which is masive and really pretty, he just liked it more than the others but I love it because its from him and he loves it too :)

Whats your opinion?

Have you ever attended a wedding ceremony at Our Lady of Angels Cathedral or a wedding reception at the plaza next door? If so, can you please tell me what your impressions were? I'm thinking of having my wedding reception there and I've heard that the food and service from the catering company is not very good.
