White poinsettias.
- White twinkle lights.
- Icicle lights.
- White branches decorated white twinkle lights and tulle.
- Buy (or rent) plants or small trees and decorate with white lights. Looks great if used in the corners of your reception room, at the doorways or even the main entrance.

Option 1: Use narrow ribbon to tie a simple bow around the votive holder.

Option 2: Place stickers around the votive holder.

Option 3: Glue or tape flowers around the votive holder

Small floating candles can be placed in simple glass bowls and placed in the middle of the tables. For larger tables, arrange some ivy around the bowl.

Tulle is cheap to use. You can buy by the bolt and it can be splashed everywhere. I ordered mine on line for my son's wedding and I was able to make the pavilion at the park look pretty decent with flowering vines hanging from them (also from the Internet. Artificial Flowers instead of real for the low end of the budget. Second hand stores for candles/holders for the centerpieces on all the tables. It doesn't have to be expensive you just need to be creative and strat on your projects now and ASK for help.
Also, there are so many sites that have tons of useful information on weddings.

This will depend on your wedding decorating budget, but you may want to consider decorating with long lengths of sheer red material. If you drape the material and occasionally gather it with gold bands (ribbon, curtain tassels, ect). The result will be very rich and warm.

If you use this idea you will want to choose a red that is not too bright. Bright materials draw the attention away from center stage (you and the Groom). Also, a lot of red can make people feel agitated and restless.

If you want to make or buy runners for long tables try finding material that is mostly red with a very small and dainty gold embroiders pattern. Then place small white frosted votive candle holders in a row down the center.

If you would like to add nature to your wedding, think about using berries (fake or real) these will add texture to the decorations and utilize your colors beautifully.

Some people also like to use pinecones. You can make them spectacular by using a little gold paint on the edges.

For guest favors, you may want to get small Christmas tree balls with gold tops or decorations. Depending on the size of your wedding, you could take a gold pen and write your name, your groom's name, and your wedding date on each one. This can also be used as gifts for the wedding party or family.

Overall, try to avoid very bright reds, keep the amount of red to a min. and use the gold as an accent.

There are also many places that sell white and red wedding dresses. Your dress material may be heaver looking than most weddings since it is in the winter, but light material and lace are always beautiful. Search for dresses on the internet and in person. Dresses that have embroidery are going to stay beautiful longer than dresses with beads and sequins. These yellow very quickly.

Hope this helps. You can visit Renewed Dreams - http://reneweddreams.501megs.com for some more great ideas!

Congrats!

For the table setting I would have red and decorate with gold accesories but not to much like I would have the white plates that is laced around with gold and I would have the chair with a sheer kind of gold covering where is not to much and the tye be red with red roses for the center pieces I love roses and I think that flowers are what make the wedding but its important not to go overboard because then it could be to clashy so just a touch but that is my opinion no ballons because that is just tacky or maybe the table should be gold with red roses I think I like that betterits more royal and it wont be to much red and so when that shows up it will stick out

I'd go with balloon arches in red and gold, with different balloon centrepieces.

Here are just a few ideas. Some with instructions, so that it becomes cheaper, if you don't want to spend that kind of money.

Another idea is to make table decorations that can be taken away as keepsakes after the wedding.

But for main decorations, stay away from tacky and embrace the balloon idea, you can make it simple or elaborate and keep it from being tacky (in my opinion, crepe wedding bells are tacky). These arches are phenomenal made up, and you can always rope in a few people to help with smaller peices if you want to get the arches done professionally.

Good luck with the wedding, and married life.

I saw this magazine where they put water in a small plastic bucket then put another smaller bucket inside of that bucket put holly berries, evergreen and other christmas type things in the water let if freeze and then put candles in the middle of the ice. It was a beautiful table decoration. Cheap and not much clean up. just make sure you put a pretty plate or something under it to catch the water as it melts.

Hmm, since it's so close to Christmas, how about a red & gold decorated tree? Or red & gold ribbon & candles in some sort of centerpiece?

Decorate the reception hall with strings of white lights overhead? It'll be like snow or stars.
