I was a 22 year old bride. I had a beautiful elegant wedding. Our secret was that we kept everything very neutral. Our colours were taupe's, whites, creams etc. Everything neutral and monochromatic. It was very elegant. The girls wore light gold dresses. I wore a halter dress. We had an outdoor ceremony and used cheap crinoline and hanging baskets to decorate. The flower baskets were all white flowers with greenery. We had a buffet dinner to keep the costs down. Our wedding cake was three separate cakes in a light taupe colour with flowers on top of each of them. Keep things simple and neutral and you will have a very elegant wedding.

Elegant, schmelegant. LOL The most elegant and glamorous wedding in living memory was probably the Charles and Diana one, and gee was that an e xpensive failure. We got married while he was on a fieldbreak from his overseas job. Two friends were our witnesses, and we went out back of the church afterwards and drank a glass of champagne with the officiating Minister and his wife. He and I had gone desperately shopping for some black shoes for him the day prior. Couldn't find anything for his big ole feet. In one store, the guy waiting on us cackled and said "Sorry sir, we don't seem to have anything in your size - but I could give you a c ouple of shoe BOXES! We just died laughing.
That was the morning. That afternoon we went off together and had a swim in the ocean, ate out in a favorite eating place, and returned to our apartment, me still teasing him about the shoes he had to wear with the suit because we couldn't find any new ones. But on the way home from the restaurant he said he had a bellyache. He gripped the steering wheel of that car with a whiteknuckled grip and with a desperate look on his face we sped home. He leapt out of the car and into our apartment, and I followed him laughing till I nearly bust something. From that day till now - over 30 years later - if one of us gets a "bowel call" that wont wait, we call it a "wheelgripper" .
I know that this didn't give you much help on that "food, music, decor, etc" question you asked. But my purpose was more one of dropping a reminder that the important issue isn't so much about getting married, as about being married. I love that old expression "never sweat the small stuff". When you are comparing the few hours it takes to GET married against what it takes to make it over the years to come...... that first part is very definitely "small potatoes" and I wouldn't swap my personal memories of that day of mine for all the glamor or elegance that money could buy.

I suggest you rent or buy the movie, ''Madea's Family Reunion'' ... There's a wedding at the end of the movie that is just as elegant as they get lol You could probably get some great ideas off of it. Maybe watching all of those wedding shows on the style channel could help too...you could get lots of good ideas. Use lots of glitter and the color white...use a variety ofmusic so everybody is happy :) .... for the food...make it elegant...make it look ''Heaven-Like'' lol .... decor...besides what I told you I dont know but on one episode of ''Whose Wedding Is It Anyway'', they used long white fancy feathers in a tall lit up vase thing for the center pieces. Sounds crazy but it was very elegant and beautiful. Use TONS of candles too. Well good luck and best wishes!

to make everything have that elegant look..
it's all about the room/place u book.
you will know what i mean when u atart looking around.U can have it be a black tie wedding (everyone has to dress up) and make it a lil later then most weddings so it is more like a night time ball..food-always think about what u like and your guest will like,-most people go for the fancey 1 set meal,(matter how much u want to spend) When going to look at things and buy things think of elegant and magic and if u look at it and like will maybe well then it is not it..Music u can get a dj to play older music like ball room and all if u are going more for that you can also go with a band...flowers ,candels, are always nice..
Good Luck <3~

Make your color scheme really simple and elegant with colors like cream and a very light pink. Also ask some of your relatives and friends to see if they have any ideas.

don't be so ghetto. get yourselfs a good dj - not no hood rat. get yourselfs a good catererer - not one gonna make chicken wings and serve up 1.00 beers. get a nice dress - why u gonna waste time looking like ho on Big day? make sure bride maids actin' right and not all drunk, high, and sluts. also don't puts up to many flowers, u risk lookin' like a funeral or easter sunday.
