Have you ever attended a wedding ceremony at Our Lady of Angels Cathedral or a wedding reception at the plaza next door? If so, can you please tell me what your impressions were? I'm thinking of having my wedding reception there and I've heard that the food and service from the catering company is not very good.

I have not attended a wedding but I viewed both the Church and the site (reception plaza) because I was thinking of getting married there. The food is delicious, catered by Patina which has contracts with Disney and Disney music hall among others.

The Cathedral is beautiful inside and out. You can take your own priest, only one of you has to be Catholic. However, you have to meet with them and give them 2 dates - sort of like a raffle.

There are 2 times to pick for a reception, an early reception till 4pm or late reception starts at 7pm till 11pm or midnight. The plaza is beautiful too! it is very elegant.

Go to the site and ask for info, and you will be invited to a free tasting. When you attend, there will be other couples and you will see the plaza and get more info. You will also be served dinner. When we went, I stayed behind to take pics and the coordinator invited me to a wedding there the next day.

You do not have to have both the mass and reception there, you can have one or the other, or both. The Church (mass/cathedral) donation is $1500, pricey compared to other Churches. The plaza is $600 (affordable) but with a $10,000 minimum and I wasnt going to feed that many people.

I've never been there, but you should not hire a caterer until you've tasted the food and checked the references.
