My wedding is going to be simple looking. I say "looking" because it hasn't been simple, but I didn't expect it to be simple. My problem is while my girls are going to be in very lovely dresses, and my fiance is trying to talk me into him and his guys to be in plain jackets, jeans and baseball caps. Should I give in and let him do his thing while I do mine, or should I tell him he and the guys need to be sharp dressed men? Maybe not that wording, but you all know what I mean. Please help. We handled the small stuff first with no problem, and now he's giving me a heap of frustration with the big stuff.

How can I get my fiance to help me clean our house - Just for an hour this weekend... We both work all week and the place is a pig sty by the weekend and I usually have to do all the work - but I'm so discouraged... He makes more mess than me and it is mostly his messes and clutter.... WHat will motivate him to help me?!!!

I was married Oct. 2005 and I have this crinolin slip that was obviously worn once...It takes up a lot of room, I already had my gown preserved....but I don't want to throw it away. I am short (5 feet) so it would only fit petite ladies. Anyone that can tell me what I can do with it so not to waste it?

I believe it is a reference to something, but the person who said "something green" to me refuses to tell me what it is. I think it is related to the whole "something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new" thing said for weddings, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere. So... what is "something green"?

One of my dearest friends is very concerned about looking good at my wedding now that she's my bridesmaid. She's expressed concern about her body type & finding the right dress. She says shes very thick waisted and anything drawing attention to that area is not flattering to her. I've chosen black & white as the dress colors but have no CLUE what type of dress fits that body shape. She was thinking a basic strapless tea length with a sheer (chiffon) halter overlay on the dress. She says she looks best in a halter style or "V" neckline. I want to send her ideas but I don't want to frustrate her either. Can someone give me some advice on a dress that will flatter her and make her feel beautiful? Here is one she voted down & another I may suggest:

Pictures or links would be great! THANK You!!

My partner and I have been together for 12 years, have 3 beautiful boys and have decided to get married. Majority of guests also have children so I would like them to feel welcome to bring their children. We live in the country and would like a simple but elegant ceremony and reception but due to the fact both my parents have passed away we are funding it ourselves so it also needs to be on a budget.I would love ideas for a family friendly ceremony, venue
and family friendly reception. Please help if you can.-

We have a huge family and would like to include everyone, but we want an intimate, small reception that includes close family and friends. I also want to request that no children are brought to the reception. I don't mind them coming to the wedding, I just want the reception to have adults. It may sound mean, but I don't even want some of the family to be at the reception. We both have some super religious and conservative family members and I don't want to pay a couple thousand dollars to not have a good time. Let me know what you think!

I asked this question last week, but didn't get many answers. I live in PA, but really don't want to stay here. We are getting married in June. Only want to go somewhere for a weekend. Someplace fun and romantic. Not too expensive, but seems like it should be, ya know?

My gent & I got married in a private ceremony at the courthouse three years ago right before he was deployed. Most of my family didn't hear about it until afterwards. (and we somewhat insluted by it.) At the 5 year mark we want to have a more public renewal, BUT what to expect? Since most of the vows renewals in my family take place on the 50th year they tend to be a big to-do. We cannot afford this.
Any suggestions?
