I asked this question last week, but didn't get many answers. I live in PA, but really don't want to stay here. We are getting married in June. Only want to go somewhere for a weekend. Someplace fun and romantic. Not too expensive, but seems like it should be, ya know?

I know this choice will sound weird, but Las Vegas is really fun for a weekend and a Honeymoon, and it is not that expensive. You can get packages form thursday to sunday at really low prices, which allow you to choose a couple of shows, have really romantic dinners and maybe get a couples massage in a nice spa.
Another place you can go to that is cheap is Niagara Falls, you can always stay at a cozy bed and breakfast, or if you are upto it, you can always go to some resort in the Bahamas, Costa Rica or Jamaica.

Right now www.expedia.com was having an anniversary sale, they have really good packages "romance inspired" at good prices. Hope that helps, good luck and remember that wherever you end up going tell everyone YOU ARE HONEYMOONERS, that always gets you extra special treatment and nice goodies.

PA is a 9 hour drive all by itself, so your location would help. I know the poconos sounds like a good idea and looks like a good idea from the online pictures; but here's the thing. Those resorts haven't been updated since your parents went on their honeymoon. The poconos are beautiful but don't go to one of the old resorts. Ohiopyle or Seven Springs are nice too.

I like the outerbanks in NC; Duck is about 7 hours from Philly. Niagra Falls in NY or Canada would be good.

Williamsburg, VA would be my first choice. Busch Gardens is my favorite amusement park ever. Plus there are some really nice hotels and a good resort there. Also there are alot of historical things to see, if you're into that sort of thing. It's about 5 hours from Philly. There are also a bunch of really good restaurants. Aberdeen Barn is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I also really like the historical restaurants in Colonial Williamsburg.

When you say not too expensive, I'm not sure what that means to you. Come to Wisconsin and visit the wisconsin dells. In June it's full of fun things to do and the weather is great and there are lots of romantic places to stay and see. Go to Wisdells.com and check it out. It's just an idea, thats not too far for you to go. Good luck and Congratulations

Congrats!
I actually just got engaged to a wonderful guy from PA. We looked at places there and we found an AWESOME place in the Poconos Mountains... look it up!!! It's an adult only resort, so you don't have to worry about noisy kids bothering you. It would be perfect if you just want to go away for a weekend!

you seem to have quite a bit of time to save and plan for a very special get away. have you thought about going on a Caribbean cruise? those are nice and if you start saving now, you should more than pay it off and not go out of budget for the wedding etc. good luck! i know how hectic it can be going through this. don't worry, everything will work out in the end. it always does.

peace

What about Niagara Falls - on the Canadian side? (the American side is ok too.)

Certainly one of the wonders of the world & if you haven't been there - it's considered the 'honeymoon capital of the world' also.

In June it will be lovely. Actually, it's lovely any time of year. But in June there will be nightly fireworks.

Congratulations.

The Pocano Resort. My parents went there for their Honeymoon in '73 and they loved it. You get individual cabin, there's hiking, bycicle riding, you can make your own candles, my parents did. If you want more details just contact me and I can get more info from my parents. They went back for a second honeymoon on their 30th wedding anniversary. GOOD LUCK and Congrats!
