Do you both have a common interest? Museums, art, history . . . . thinking of having the ceremony in a public museum, or the state park. How about the Japanese Garden at Golden Gate Park? I think the neatest weddings are the most casual where people don't have to get all dressed up and can relax and enjoy themselves. There is also the beach area where you could have the ceremony and have bond fires. Know you would no doubt have to get permits, but I don't think it would cost all that much. I would start checking around, was surprised to see weddings in the museums back east in the heart of the city and not costing a down payment on a home. Good luck!

Why not check out a local upper scale hotel, rent the banquet room have the chairs set up for the ceremony then go outside for the pretty scenery and take the pics, have the ushers and others move the chairs around the room or see if the hotel can move in tables. That would kill two birds with one stone.
