When I went to the university in the early 1980s, one fellow thought "Mike's a man and men don't like their wives working !" so he figured I wanted a housewife . At another point, he thought I'd insist on my wife staying home and being a housewife . In reality, any woman I marry has to work and bring home a paycheck . What's the point of a man insisting on his wife staying home and being a housewife ? If a man wants the chance to say "I make all the money, so I make all the decisions ?", isn't that kind of sexism old -- fashioned in this day and age ? If a man can't make enough money to finance his marriage, he shouldn't complain if his wife goes to work and helps him out . If a man refuses to let his wife work and make a paycheck, why should she stay married to him ?

It's been almost a year & we have a fantastic relationship with the exception that he continues to let the ex wife get to him. His divorce is still fresh & I had nothing to do with it - in fact she's the one who cheated & she's still not happy with the house & everything - he took 3 items and is returning 1. Anyways - sometimes I just feel like I cannot put up with her interfering with his happiness anymore, but because he's going through so much, I will not and could not hold him respsonsible - I KNOW it's her - BUT - sometimes I wish he would just change his cell # and tell his kids (who are 28 &22) NOT to give it to her. There's no reason for her to able to get in touch with him. I feel so guilty for feeling as though I cannot take it anymore, I can just imagine what he's going through & I do all sorts of things to try and help him through it & he's appreciative - But I just cannot get past that I want it all to stop!

For divorced guys, is true that most divorced don't want to consider getting married again especially if the divorce was a mess? From what I heard, most prefer to live as unmarried couple for some time.. then get married later as soon as they find out teh relationship works. Can you share your thoughts on this?

My hubby works 40 hours a week and me I work 40-55 hours a week and I bring home $4,500.00 a month sometimes more sometimes less...but it averages out to around $4,ooo A month. Our rent is $2,000 a month and we have 2 car notes and insurance and of course the utilities and other bills and groceries etc...He told me that i was to pay with my money 100% of the rent and then 1/2 of all the other bills because i make this much money...oh and with my money i have to pay 100% of day care for our son too. My hubby makes $33.00 an hour and works 40 hours a week and some over time time and a half..he makes more than me but since 1000 buck is taken out of his check a month for child support on his 17 yr old daughter he feels i should pay more of the bills. i also have to dress nicely and i am a very consevative and frugal person. he will not even alow me to go get a $15 manicure or even buy a new skirt or blouse on discount..nor a pair of comfy shoes that are on discount! continued....

I was once loved a young lady who had been taken through a lot of dramatic events in her early twenties. I married her and let her have her way for years. When we began dating I took it upon my self to listen to her problems and be a good friend. We ended up being together for almost a decade. We recently split because I wore down. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I was only 30. I had to make changes to survive for my kids. I spoiled her so badly that she didn't want to change anything. I tried to live her way. The stress and frustration was too much. I was in great physical shape when I meet her. In fact Infact I was linebacker in college. I would be a fool to blame my ex for my problems. I honestly feel in a situation like this no one is to blame. Our relationship began and remained the same way but had to change. I had to change to survive but my ex still wants to have her way and not change. I couldn't handle her anymore. I tried for 3 years to make things work.

I pay 50% of my paycheck in childsupport. I barely have enough left to live off of much less get a lawyer. My boss has cut my hours, so now it's worse. If it wasn't for a very dear friend and family i wouldn't make it. I can't afford a lawyer and I'm ready to just give up on ever seeing my children again.

My fiancee and I have been living together for 3years. We've had our ups and downs and I've always been right when it comes to intuition about our relationship. Well lately I've been feeling like he's gonna leave. I'm a little upset not that he wants to go but b/c all my 5year old and I have know for the past 5 years is him. I love him but I don't want him if he is unhappy and jumping down my throat every 5 seconds...but how will I start over I don't think I can function without him. financially and emotionally. He was my best friend but I do believe his heart has wondered. Where will I go what will I do I live in a state where I know no one and I don't believe I can support me and my son if he leaves. Any ideas?

My husband and I have completly opposite tastes in music. I don't like the bands he likes and vice versa. It's not really a huge deal but it would be nice if we liked the same stuff so we could go to concerts together. How important is it for you and your spouse to have similar taste in music?

Ok so he loves me. I know because he cries when he is happy. but the thing is he is mad about money. He wants to save all our money for the next 2 years so we can have an Audi S5! that means no going out or anything. Another thing is he has no idea about being romantic. He said that flowers are a waste of time and money because they die. He has never really had a girl friend B4 so i am the fist. (wife) he keeps asking me if things are normal for a relationship like not agreeing on things. I do love him but just need some help to sort him out B4 he drives me crazy its like having a kid for a husband. I thought it was the wifes job. lol!

My husband who is 56 and an attorney, had no retirement plan, no disability plan (solo practice), no life insurance, no long term care, no savings, and his home business is so disorganized it is frightening. He also can never seem to get his business off the ground and wont advertise or do anything to promote it. I finally made him a website and he is getting some clients but very few. I work for the state and make good money and have retirement for myself, disability, and am getting a long term care plan. We have been together 12 years and just got married last fall. He now has health insurance through me but even though he agreed to get coverage for all the rest he still hasnt done it. What is going to happen to me later on if he becomes disabled and what if he has no retirement?

Well he did what he said, only he kept coming back to me for a couple of days and then leaving and going back to her, this went on for nearly two months, I had finally pulled myself together and starting going out I ended up meating the nicest man in the world who was going through the same thing, so then I realised it wasn't the end I was someone and I was going to be ok, just then my cheating husband come back and really wanted me back, Too make a long story short I did take him back, 2years later I still havn't forgiven him, he promised all these things and has never kept his word, I'm still waiting on him to screw up again.
