Ex-husband calls me to discuss our adult children. He stays on phone for 1.5 hours and is so sweet and understanding and calls me "Hon" twice. We've been divorced 8 years and he has remarried. This is the first time he has called. Before this I was a name that was unmentionable.

I don't feel it. I try but I feel I know him more than what he can say to a counselour. Its hard to explain but I feel that route can't work. And I don't want it, truly. Did I not try hard enough? Or am I listening to my heart and thats a good thing?

What makes you think my son is a spoiled brat, I hardly ever see him. I see my daughter in law and my grandson more often. I keep my grandson almost ever weekend and give up my free time, which I do not regret at all because I love my grandson with all of my heart. I do this so my son and his wife will have more alone time to work on their marriage. I guess it did not work. What do you suggest I do now?

I have been in a 4 year relationship andtold him I want to be single due to many, many personal issues he needs to deal with. When I am with him I feel down right miserable. But when he's away and we are seperated, I feel guilty and I miss him too. I am very confused, do I not know what I want or am I just making the wrong decision or...? Help!

When I met my wife, she was a smoker. On our second date, I told her that I could not continue to date a smoker since I can't stand it. So she stopped immediately.

Six years later, she has taken up smoking again and I can't stand it. She only smokes two a day but sometimes more. She does her best to keep herself from smelling bad. When I tell her that she is being stupid, she tells me that I am trying to control her life.

I know that it is her life. I assume that I either have to live with her habit or leave her if I feel that strongly about it. Are there no other options? Is there any way for me to deal with the pain without affecting our marriage?

I'm 45 and have loss both parents unexpectedly to death but the pain that I feel now that the woman that I have loved for so long has left me. How can I stop this gut wrenching pain from controling my life. I walk in the house and I just start crying my eyes out because I don't see her on the patio waving at me with her lovely smile. Everything that I look at from the coffee mugs that we had coffee in every morning to the bed, decorations that she hung and placed around the house, everything makes me so sad. I had no idea that she was so unhappy, at least to the point of sneeking away. I've talked to her on the phone and she says that it is not another man, just that she didn't feel loved. She stopped drinking 5 months ago and since then she went on a health kick and I didn't. I love her with all of my heart and would do anything for her. I have no family or friends, 2400 miles from where I grew up and no money. I just don't know what to do with my life, I am so sad, the saddest ever.

I did this the other day b/c getting engaged isn't really a surprise to me, I pretty much helped my guy pick out the ring. But he made the final selection. Anyways, I tried on the rings to make sure they fit (turns out we had to get both of them sized-twice!). I told my best friend about this, and she completely freaked out. She said that is really bad luck to do so. I've never heard this superstition. What do ya'll think? Bad luck or no?

I think my husband has been lying to me about money. He is a compulsive gambler (recovering), but I'm worried he has started again. What are the signs that someone is lying, such as body language, etc.

TIA

I know that many people will tell me that it doesn't matter if she is a virgin or not, but I would like to know which would you prefer better. Few men are virgins before they marry, so that's something women can't expect anymore.

Anyway, I would like to know your opinion.

I've been married for a year and a half and together with the same man - i mean really together (living with, etc) for three years prior to the wedding. i am unhappy - pretty much have been a good portion of the relationship - i feel stiffled and humiliated and all that bad stuff. i know i am not perfect - it takes two to tango - but i know that it is time to leave.... so now what? where do i go? who do i contact? how long does it take? How much does it cost? who is responsible for the fees? so many questions. thankfully, even though we had been pregnant many times, the lord did not bless us with earthbound children. i still love him - but i moved into our guest room last week - one can only take so much rejection before they just quit. it wont be easy getting him to agree - i've tried before to get him out - i had to call the cops (i just wanted to be alone!).
suggestions?

He's another customer who's married, but whose marriage is on the verge of over. We went to lunch about 3 months ago, and he poured out his heart to me about his loneliness and disappointment in his wife. He also said that he found me irresistible. I guess it's because of his situation at home, too. We went to lunch again last week, but I brought a co-worker with me. Today I saw him in his office, and told me not to bring a chaperone in the future. What do you guys think?

My two year old angel is the first and only child me and my wife has had. (We might be too old now for more.) I'm so scared sometimes, when she falls, when she scratches or bumps her head. I know it's normal. Also, when I take her to the park or the play-pen, I always check for loose swings or nails, then look around for suspicious men, who could be pediphiles.

Is there any way to keep her a two year old? I don't want her to change from Miss Tea party. My wife says I spoil her (which I probably do.)

How do I know she won't become like the Hilton sisters? How do I know she will talk to me when she becomes a teenager about peer-pressure or boys? I feel so self-consious sometimes that I might be parenting all wrong. Is that normal?
