Ex-husband calls me to discuss our adult children. He stays on phone for 1.5 hours and is so sweet and understanding and calls me "Hon" twice. We've been divorced 8 years and he has remarried. This is the first time he has called. Before this I was a name that was unmentionable.

Maybe he's trying to bury the hatchet? Let him. Don't read more into it.

Sounds like a little nostalgia hit him. Guys usually go through a stage of reflection every once in a while. They don't necessaliy want a relationship...but they want the comfort of keeping in touch and reminicing the good 'ole days. In this case, the kids are what you have in common. It's the common ground in which is safe to talk about...he may keep in touch and expand on other issues...like what went wrong, and so forth. It's okay. Don't worry about it...it's usually middle age creeping up, and he wants peace in his life, and resolution from issues in the past. In other words...it's a guys why of trying to say "I'm sorry, and let's leave the past behind us, and let's be friends."

Hope this helps.

It's entirely possible he's experiencing some problems at home and just recalled all the sweet times he's had with you (obviously he's forgotten any bad things... men have selective memory with women)

In the end, he's remarried and you're both divorced. That's the point.

It sounds like he's having trouble in his current marriage and is now realizing that the grass is not greener where he is. Of cousre by now he's not angry with u anymore and thinks he can "test" the waters with u again. How u handle this is up to u but just remember that he is your ex for a reason.

Looks like he finally realized that it was better for everyone to get along with you. It really is hard to go thru life hating someone so much that it consumes you. My ex is still mad and we've been divorced since '79. She calls me sperm donor. Classy for sure.
