I am not a divorced Evangelical Christian but Iam a Christian I do believe it is a sin but it also depends on what happened because if cheating was involve it gives you an out but if there something else going on at least try consoling before divorce. Good luck and may God Guided you.

I'm a Christian, but not an Evangelical Christian. The Bible says that once a man takes a wife they are always (I believe the word is cleaved) married, even if they get a divorce. I'm not sure which book(in the bible) or scripture where its cited, but try googling it.
What does the bible say about marriage and taking a wife..No, I don't believe divorce is a sin.

Is your question directed to evangelicals only. If your answer is no, then consider this. I am a christian and in my opinion divorce is not a sin but it is a personal choice among spouses who did this as an option. Personally, I believe this serves right to those partners who suffers physical abuse or emotional abuse. Married couples who had undergone emotional trauma because of negligence and an uncaring attitude of the partner deserves to live a life that is free from fear& physical attacks or violence of any sort inside their home.. I speak on behalf of those whose spouses that are a terror or a threat to their loved ones and not in cases where there is a third party involved. or those who are committing adultery.

nicely maximum Protestant denomination have allowed divorce for a even as so that they could't extremely petition complicated center on the problem because they could haven't any more some thing to say... with regard to the different question, that is because there are various of ranges of sins/transgressions. for instance, mendacity is of direction a lot less of a sin than murdering someone. From my information Protestants are in accord with Catholics even as they say that the gay ACT is adversarial to nature (sin adversarial to nature, while divorce isn't). for this reason, they're spurred on to guard the definition of marriage as between a guy and a lady.

what i find rather interesting is that for a SO CALLED CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN NATION?? the usa has the highest divorce rate of an other industrialized nation. so while is seems we like to talk the talk. we dont walk the walk. when it comes to real family values and morality. i would venture to say that a very high percentage of acting christians are divorced?? if they really lived by what they preach, the bible frowns on divorce except for in the case of adultry. but we americans preach morality to the rest of the world, but think we are exempt?????????

Divorce is not a sin unless it is due to childish reasons as accepted by society today. Divorce is acceptable as stated by Jesus himself in Matthew for adultery and hardness of heart. My divorce was due to adultery and it still hurts, it doesn't matter who is at fault, divorce always hurts.

God hates divorce for any reason but if you are in harm you need to not be there especially the kids. If you situation is not harmful than do not leave get counseling most men do not they are asses. Now I did not get a divorce we worked it out and we are very happy, but you need to asses your situation and realize if you are asking you are having a problem yes god hates but are you dieing inside because of the marriage ? seek counseling and good luck!

The Bible cleary says that divorice is wrong except for MARITIAL UNFAITHFULLNESS. Read Matthew 5:31-32. According to the Bible we have NO OTHER REASON TO DIVORCE!
31"It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.'[a] 32But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

I prayed for 20 years that he would change. When he threatened me with a gun, I decided that maybe the Lord was telling me to get out. I gave him several years to get counseling, but he refused help. He was an alcoholic and it wasn't a safe environment for my children. Had I stayed and he had carried out his threat, I might very well be in Heaven today, but my children would have suffered a great loss. My duty as a Christian is to take responsibility for the care of my children in a Godly environment.
