Marriage & Divorce - 3 September 2006

Husband is 14 years older and am struggling with decision to leave.

I've just turned 30 - he just turned 44. We've been together 7 years and I'm starting to really feel the age gap.

He thinks the world of me and treats me really well, as I do him. We have no children together.

Its sinking in that 6 years from now I will be with a 50 year old man and I will only be 36. Can't sleep at night thinking about leaving - but feel really guilty. Even having panic attacks.

The age difference has never bothered me and feel shallow that it's starting to bother me. If I tell him how I feel he will tell me to leave, for my own good. But I know he will be heart broken, and so will I. He's always been sensitive about our age difference.

Should I leave while he is still young enough to get on with his life? Or should I try to stick it out and hope these feelings go away? (Have been feeling this way for a few months now).

We both work and earn good money, I take responsibility for the family finances. My wife wants a new fancy car, she already has a respectable 3 year old car thats paid for. She says that im being unfair for not letting her have her new car, Im concerned with paying off the mortgage and saving for our old age one day. She pretty much gets everything else she wants and goes without nothing, nice clothes, vacations each year, eat out often. I treat her very well. But she tries to pressure me with that damn car.

I am not sure why he is saying like that to me. I never do any mistake. i am too good with him. In fact I am the one take care of him. But now he is saying that he is now kind of love with another girl. At the same time he is saying that he is not in love with that girl as that girl in look not pretty. He keeps saying that he is confusion. Even we are legally married, we sill have to get married by our traditional way before stay together; that’s our culture. But we meet every week in beginning. He will fetch me once in a week as we are staying far. After I got my own transport I’ll go every week once. All the sudden he slowly stopped talking 2 and asked me not to go there. Beginning this yr he said that he is forcing his self to me and he find another girl is a best match but never asked for divorce (that was on Feb 2006). Since that he never calls me or never replies my SMS/email anything. I am the one every week will go there and visit him. And now he wants divorce. Pls advice me.

My husband's ex happens to be his sister in laws best friend. Family functions are frequently held at their home. The ex is more often than not invited to functions that are held by the sister in law, including things that should just be immediate family. The problem is now they consider her as "immediate" family. It has also been said to me by his mother that she is like a daughter in law, although they have never been married or engaged. Mind you initially she indicated that she did not care for her and was glad they never married or had children.

Ok....my wife was "out with the girls", which is fine.
She came home a little after 3am, which was odd.
I got upset once before when she came home late (months ago) - which led to problems, so I did not say much this time.
She took a shower as soon as she came in - odd again.
She says she was at the bar - but the bar closes at 1am.
And.....she initiated sex when she got into bed with me -
something that RARELY happens. And it was better than
we had it for a long time!
She is very vague about who was there with her and why she was there so late.
IF she was fooling around - why whouls she want to be intimate with me when she got home?
Do you think it is all innocent - or should I be concerned?

i got married at the age of 16 and had my first born at the age of 16 too,since i married young and had a family young i lost all of my friends because i stoped partying, drinking, acting wild and going out. now i'm 26
for years i felt complete just by having my family members around, i still feel very happy and greatful to have my family, but i am starting to feel that i need to make some friends,i feel lonely, people always take a liking to me but i am scared to take the next step, it is very hard for me to socialize and carry on a conversation, what should i do to become less shy and more outgoing and more confidant?

One last thing that is bothering me is that my ex husbands ex girlfriend was only 20 when he was 35. I just found this out today. MAKES ME SICK... almost like a pedofile. I would kill a man if they were with my daughter that young. WTF>>>>> is there something better about young girls that older men like? if so... what is it? the dominance? The youth? i,ve been with husband since i was 13 yrs old.Hes alot older than i am.We are married with two kids now.He is very old fashion,controlling and never see his faults.I am a stay at home mom,with no friends and have to answer to him every move i make.Being married to him is so boring and i feel like i can't do this no more,sometimes i feel like i stay because of pitty,but most of all i think of my kids.My first child make it so hard for me to leave,because hes close to his father.I am tired of being his slave,he don't make time for me,works all the time,and the little time he has he spent it with his friends when he can be home with his family.Most of the time when hes home early from work,hes always tired.i am distancing myself from him,and looking for attention from another man,can someone please give me some advise,being a young mother and a house with no one to talk to?Thank you very much to all who share there knowledge with me.
