Do the husbands ever leave their wifes for the mistress?

I love my boyfriend, but do people get married because they want to or because they are pressured to by society? Do people even cherish marriage anymore? Do saying your vows mean anything? Why not just live together and be happy? Why bother getting a license? If it doesnt work out, and your single, you can just break up. Getting divorced means court and everyone knows. Whats the point?

i have been seeing a girl next door to me for 9 months now. and it has been the best 9 months of my life, and we did have the most amazing tme . but a week ago we split because she said we were to different. i never had a job when she did . but trust me i was trying. she was an admin manager to good for me maybe ??. ... anyway im still next door and i think she has another man in there . its cracking me up .... dont tell me to move i cant

I have a beautiful, faithful 30-something year old wife. We are both white. Recently at a wedding, I was having a temporary knee problem so i agreed to allow my wife to dance with anyone she wished at the reception. I'm not the jeolous type. He is very controlling. I ma expected to do things that he enjoys but if I want to do things I enjoy, I have to do them alone. There is no sex in the relationship and I currently sleep in the living room. I just can't help but feel like there should be something more in the marriage. It feels like we are room mates. Thing is that I do not think that I want to fix it.

I have been with my husband for over 6 years. Two years ago we got married. A few months ago i found out he had been lying to me for over half a year and slept with another woman. I packed my bags and left him. For two months he was begging me to come back. Then all of a sudden he changed his mind and told me we better could get a divorce (which i wanted anyway). I now found out that at the moment he suddenly changed his mind he was dating again already and now has a new gf for several weeks already! We havent even filed for divorce yet! I think its really assholish of him and very disrespectful towards me. What do u think?

My wife and I have been separated for almost seven months. She filed a restraining order against me back in January. No physical abuse ever occured although I did chew her out several times about the affair she had last summer/fall while I was away on military duty. Since then, my four year term ended, I got a new job and basically started a new life. It's been tough but I'm just now getting used to it. Now all of a sudden, my wife wants to get back into my life. When I go to see my son, she talks about wanting to date me again and get to know me again. She knows that I've met the other guy and got some evidence from him. She just now confessed everything (after the separation agreement.) She even confessed that she filed those complaints against me in order to have leverage in a divorce case. What she doesn't know is that I went on a f*ck spree with five different women during the separation. I know that it will not work. I want to end this nicely but don't know how. Any suggestions?

Okay this is a stupid question: Now what?? We dont know how to communicate or what to do. On the weekends i go out with my friends and he does with his. We have different work scheduals during the week, so all we do is watch movies & cuddle when we get home (and other things...).I guess its time for us to grow up. We share no common interests.
