My wife and I have been separated for almost seven months. She filed a restraining order against me back in January. No physical abuse ever occured although I did chew her out several times about the affair she had last summer/fall while I was away on military duty. Since then, my four year term ended, I got a new job and basically started a new life. It's been tough but I'm just now getting used to it. Now all of a sudden, my wife wants to get back into my life. When I go to see my son, she talks about wanting to date me again and get to know me again. She knows that I've met the other guy and got some evidence from him. She just now confessed everything (after the separation agreement.) She even confessed that she filed those complaints against me in order to have leverage in a divorce case. What she doesn't know is that I went on a f*ck spree with five different women during the separation. I know that it will not work. I want to end this nicely but don't know how. Any suggestions?

Usually, being honest and straight-forward works with any sane and reasonable person. No need to tell her about the f**k spree, of course - all you really have to say is that you have moved on, and do not wish to renew your relationship. However, I don't know how sane and reasonable she really is, with all this s**t she's already done she sounds like quite a nut case. And I honestly don't know how to deal with nut cases. Perhaps, having a good lawyer would help.

You need to talk to her and tell her that you are past the us part in your life and and rebuilding the I part. I WOULD NOT confess your "spree" during the separation. That could give her leverage against you concerning your son. If you really know it won't ever work again......then stay firm.

Just tell her simply that it isn't going to work out and that you are both better off just letting it go. There isn't really a nice way to do it but there are horrible ways to do it, the best you can do is avoid one of those.
