During a very recent conversation with my crazy and derangerd child's father, I asked him could he keep her for a few days, which includes all the normal parenting things, such as feeding, bathing, taking her to school, etc... Since he had her for two days last week, and gave me a small sum of money considering he is thousands behind in child support, he told me that I was scamming him. Mind you, this is the same nutty person that was running back and forth to the Courts seeking visitation. In addition, he lives with some chick that doen't work but has a kid that she doesn't even take care of but he swears that he is going to father that child, although, the child is not his by any means. He claims he wants to be a father but when it is convient, like on select weekends. I am really at my wits end because I feel like we can do bad by ourselves, without him. I don't want to keep our daughter from him, but I don't want to deal with his irresponsiblity either.

Hi All,
My Sister was tragically killed 3 months ago. She was engaged to be married this year. After she died we all consoled her fiance. Now I have found out that he wants to announce his engagement to this new girl in 3 months. I am still hurting tremendously from losing my sister. I know my sister is in Heaven and doesn't care about what is going on down here on earth. But for some reason I feel a loyalty to her and like he (her fiance) is betraying her and our family. She loved him so much. What are your thoughts? Thanks for listening.

Why would a father give up parental rights to a stepfather and my mother? They obviously filed a petition, but they didn't ask him to do anything - he did it with no objections whatsoever. He went to prison for most of my young life (white-collar drug crime) and I had to see alot of child therapists to cope. He wrote me and sent videotapes of him all the time, so it's not like he was wanting to get rid of me. I don't think he knew what to do with me once he got out, so he just signed the papers.

It's been bothering me and I'd very much like to contact him. I'm only 16, but my parents are very supportive of it if I'd want to. I'm afraid of the rejection. Do you think he'd want to and why would he give up the rights in the first place?

Ever since I was a little kid, I was forced to spend Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter with my extended family. These are people who live close by but i only see 3 times a year. I made an attempt to be friendly- wrote some emails- got not one reply, then when i see them next they make believe they never recieved it. I convinced my Mom and two brothers we should have our own X-mas , our own Holidays without them since their so phoney.. So what happened is we did for the first time say we will not be attending easter at Uncles house because were going to ROme, Italy for Easter. They are all mad and wrote a letter saying they cant believe we are doing this to them? Now my mother tells me she was always afraid of not doing what her brother wants in fear of him getting mad like this.

What does this mean? Are they jealous? controlling? do they feel that hurt?
I feel like cutting them off after this

My aging folks are quite near 80. They continue to live in thier own house and get out and about for groceries and such. I visit when I can as they are in the same town. But I have such a hard time going to thier home for a visit......they bicker at one another over the smallest issue, I am asked to stay for dinner, last minute on a Sunday when I need to be home getting ready for the week as I am a single mother of two. Coming to my home is really not an option due to thier health and they are really stuck in thier routine. They will not pick up the phone to call and catch up that way.....oh no, all of us siblings must visit them at thier home, on thier terms despite our lives that go in ten thousand directions on any given day. I resent it. I don't even want to go over to thier home any longer but do.......for everyone's sake.
Who else deals with this? I can hardly stand it anymore......

she is 29 with 3 girls, have a boyfriend we call K-Fed as he is such a loser. He hits the girls, pulls the 2 year olds hair and gives the 10 yr old wedgies. Finally after a few months we convinced her to kick him out. This lasted a whole 12 hours. 'K-fed' won't let us around there to see the girls, they always want to come here, they can't stand being at home and hate the fact their mum has put this 'bloke' before them. We have threatened to take the girls off her and we took 2 for a while (as one is still breastfeeding), but the fact is we don't have the room for them here as I have 2 kids already and live in a small place. Why does she let this loser control her, he won't pay his way, he didn't work for 6 months out of the 8 they have been together, the girls are missing out on so much, she doesn't even have enough food for their school lunches etc then lets them stay home. She LIES all the time about how she is getting rid of him – putting the girls emotions in overdrive .

My sister is a recovering drug addict. Growing up I knew never to trust her. She's younger than I am and was wild, I was the exact opposite. She starting drinking by the time she was 11, was using had drugs by 16. I was the one she called when she overdosed when she was 21 (our parents lived far away). We fought all the time growing up, my parents thought I was just jealous because she was the pretty popular one, but I knew so much more about her. She's been in recovery where my parents live for over 3 years. I'm very proud of her for doing this, but I'm having such a hard time learning to trust her. I only see her about once a year, we talk on the phone and email fairly regularly, and I don't know how to start trusting her again. She has proven over and over to my parents that she's now trustworthy, she has a job, she's doing well in college, she's a much nicer person all around. How do I change my attitude about her?

My boyfriend and I are both 15. We have been going out for one month, and I still haven't told my parents. According to them, I am allowed to go on group dates at 15, but no single dates until 16. The problem is, I've told them that I am just friends with him so that I can go to his house without other people being there. How can I tell them that I am dating him?
My relationship with my parents is ok, but I never really tell them much because I'm afraid of them telling everyone outside my immidiate family, and I will be teased. And I get good grades in school, I am a freshman, and very responsible (no drinking, drugs, etc.)

They left it at home. I know I can't use it at a store cuz its not in my name, but what should I buy online? And how do I use it without going over the limit and making a "suspicious" bill later down the road? Thanks everyone.

Jake

P.S. Any specific things I should buy?

My son is 18 & his 17 year old girlfriend of 6 months is pregnant. They plan on getting married as soon as she turns 18 next January. She doesn't have a car & lives about 30 miles from us. & her parents have strict rules about them being alone & un chaparoned ( I know, it's odd). I don't need comments about this.
The girl thinks we hate her, she's very jealous of any time my son spends with us & gets mad at him if he goes to the store with me or talks to me instead of her for 30 minutes or so.
We don't hate her, we don't really know her.
How do I get to know her?

hi, i'll be starting work tomorrow after staying at home w/my 4 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son for about 8 months. I am feeling the jitters from starting a new job but mostly feeling a sadness b/c I know my daughter and I won't have those bonding long days together since she starts school in September and I start work tomorrow, those days are gone for good and I get a lump in my throat when I think about it. I'm gonna miss her sooo much, my son is 7 and in 1st grade so its going to be easier on him i think but i'll also miss being there for him when he comes home from school. I didn't expect to feel so gloomy and sad, any encouraging words or advice would really help me tonight so I can start my first day not an emotional wreck. Thanks to all.
