I live about 20 min from home & the other day I was babysitting my 6 year old cousin & I was talking to my mom who mentioned she & my grandfather were going to dinner because he just returned home from a long vacation. My cousin & I were already going to go out to dinner so I suggested that we all meet. It was only 2 in the afternoon so it wasn't too late or anything but she got all huffy & said that my grandfather would be disappointed, he really likes the Happy Hour crowd at this restaurant/bar. I said we would come to them & I am sure that he would like to see his grandkids. She got all mad & said that she hasn't been to Happy Hour in weeks & that they had plans & she couldn't drop everything just for me. She kept saying that he really wanted to go (even though those words never came out of his mouth, especially because she refused to ask him if he wanted to meet us) & that she needs to have a life too. I felt so hurt & told her but she sees no wrong.Am I crazy?How would your react?

I don't have a great life my parents are in dept and my family isn't united. We see families with worse situations have better relationships. Why is this? How can we fix it?

My Inlaws seem to hate me. i got engaged to my Husband a few days after he returned from a family holiday to spain. My sister in law has since then has been causing trouble saying that i'm taking my husband away from his family where i'm not., i'm am a family person and its not like me to do that. She is an instigator and even told one of his Other sister in law;s that her son isnt her husbands. i dont know what to do, they aren't talking to us any more, what should i do??

My dad always promises things he can't keep. He's almost never kept a promise for me in MY entire life. He puts my efforts down to the waistside. Whenever I tell him my ideas, he says they're crap and other things, and so I started to act like I didn't know anything around him. And for school projects now, I have to go out and buy things, and because my mom's out running errands, my dad has to teach me. And I could be driving by now, but whenever I bring that up, he goes all freakoid on me. All the promises he's never kept --From I'm gonna give you money to go do this to I'm gonna teach you this and he never did it to I know I have some weights in the garage and never gets them. Now, when I was in the car with him today to get stuff I absolutely needed, I brought up some of this stuff PLEASANTLY so he couldn't escape the situation. He starts telling me all his problems and gets all passive-aggressive and I tell him I never spend time with him because I hate him!

He' starting to get out of control and I'm sure it's his "home boys" that get him to do these things. I threatened my son that I would send him to boot camp after one more chance. Of course, I keep giving him one more chance. The last straw was last week when him and his friends took bats and wrecked the neighbor's tool shed. Thankfully, the neighbors decided not to call the cops and told me that my son and his friends can pay money for a new shed. He's only 16, so he's like a baby to me and I don't want him to get hurt. I'm so afraid that he's going to end up dead on the street with the type of friends he choses to hang out with. I told him to stop hanging around them, but he says they're good friends. I am afraid of these guys. Any ideas on what I should do? What would you do in this situation?

My mum comes up to me and says do you like my new watch? Your sister bought it for me for mother's day - look it's a Bob Marley watch. Looking at confused I reply no mum it is an Armani watch.

I am having a baby in a few months. My lease is up in June, just after baby is due. Would you move if things were so noisy that you could hear the neighbors alarm clock? I will have a baby waking up at night, and they will hear it for sure. The people upstairs right now are moving out, they are fed up. This place was not oringally built for 2 suites. I can hear their wash machine and everystep they walk upstairs. When I turn my heat on, they are sweating... should I just move? Don't want stress with new baby. Or should I wait and see what new neighbors are like? Money is an issue...

My Dad works on weekends and my mom does to. The thing is my dad gets home somedays at about noon or eirler. He just gets on the couch and sleeps. I have brothers but there never home and im really bored. Should i wake my dad up or just let him sleep and deal with it??? I would like to spend time with him but i dont think that is ever going to happen!

My boyfriend and I have been living together since we've started dating, I have met his grandfather and grandmother who just passed so I just felt a little wierd about not really being invited to the memoral. she made me promise not to tell, and so far her cuts are not very deep. if I tell a healthcare provider, she'll be hospitalized and stigmatized, not to mention miss a lot of school. I can't tell her mom because her mom is unpredictable and I don't know how she would react. I fear she might say something like, "Who cares. Let her cut herself to death.", or, she might kick her out, or take her to the ER and have her admitted. How can I deal with this just between my daughter and I? she claims that Everyone is doing it.

Seems like since my only daughter was around the age of 25, she began acting distant treating myself and our intire family. Grandparents Aunts Uncle etc. coldly and rudly. She is now 35 and has twin girls age 4. We are allowed to visit her which is about 3 1/2 hrs. away. She will not come visit us or allow our grandchildren to visit us. My parents mailed the twins some toys at Christmas. My daughter never bothered to go to the post office to pick them up. This is her grandparents who have only treated her with love. I have written her aletter about two years ago telling her that I love her very much. I asked to be forgiven for not being a perfect parent. I did the best that I knew how. She had a fairly normal home life. I did get divorced when she was 8. But she acts like poor me.Today I've tried to talk to her about how I feel, not allowing our grandchild to visit. I was told that if I was calling to make her feel bad, could I do that later. I said I'm only tring to express myself.

So years ago my brother left our family to be marry a hooker. Now my mother and I are completely against this because well...She's a hooker and he also started an escort agency (so he's a pimp).

Now I have values plus our family has a long line of history. Our family dates back to the 12th century. I also found out they tried to have kids but the hooker had a miscarriage. A lot of people are telling me that I should embrace their marriage and I should forgive and forget. What should I do? I mean she's a hooker for god's sake. Maybe they listened to too much Traviata.
