My mum comes up to me and says do you like my new watch? Your sister bought it for me for mother's day - look it's a Bob Marley watch. Looking at confused I reply no mum it is an Armani watch.

Another of her funny comments is:

Ow ow.... i've got clamp. She had cramp in her foot.

Anyone else got parents who just come out with the stupidist of things??

I wouldn't say that makes her crazy. You are very embarrassed by some of the things she says, but think about things from her point of view. Was she born or did she grow up in a foreign country to the one you're in now? Does she take into account pop culture and fashion, or is she preoccupied with her career, interests, or goals? Be grateful for who your mom is.

My mom is mentally ill. She never says anything like those funny things your mom said :)

Is your mom crazy? Have you ever thought that maybe she is doing all of this on purpose to make you laugh? Yes, my mom can come up with some off the wall things. Don't know why but it happens.

i haven't got silly parents yet but my children used to say the funniest of things , my eldest daughter was convinced that 'killerpackets' were after her when she was very little ,what she really meant was 'caterpillars'.
And my son always asked in the greengrocers for 'dock-leaves and weeds' (broccoli and swede). But i think that it's very endearing to have someone make funny comments, it puts a smile on your face when you know what they mean and can brighten up the dullest of days.

Hi, Yes i do, i think it's my age. Sometimes we don't think before we speak. But even though we say and do daft things we still love our children. and don't mean to embarrass them.
