So years ago my brother left our family to be marry a hooker. Now my mother and I are completely against this because well...She's a hooker and he also started an escort agency (so he's a pimp).

Now I have values plus our family has a long line of history. Our family dates back to the 12th century. I also found out they tried to have kids but the hooker had a miscarriage. A lot of people are telling me that I should embrace their marriage and I should forgive and forget. What should I do? I mean she's a hooker for god's sake. Maybe they listened to too much Traviata.

sticking to your values is admirable. and should be respected. the same way you should respect your brothers choice of spouse. ok so its not ideal or every ones idea of what the in-laws should be like, but he is still your brother and apart from his wife's career choice you do not indicate there is anything else wrong in your relationship. Obviously your brother knows this is the reason for the distance between you, why not reach a compromise, you get together, for dinner whatever, you wont mention your disapproval, so long as he or she doesn't bring the matter up, yes its a pretence, but everyone concerned knows why, surley its a small price to pay to have your brother in your life

Stand your ground. The world is slipping because of the lack of morals and values. Good for you for standing up for them and showing your family what is right and wrong.

Keep being strong. You ARE doing the right thing!

Don't disown you brother. Even if he is stupid. You don't have to agree with what he does, but he's you brother. Even if you disagree (strongly) with his actions.
