Family - March 2007

my father is a sociopath, and alcoholic, and a druggie. He played my mother and I against each other when I was younger and made my sister feel like he didn't love her. He walked out a year ago but his alcoholism has gotten horrible. The man has been stalking my family (literally) by stealing our mail, reading it, then returning it. He has been breaking into our house and leaving beer cans. I can't get over the fact he doesn't live with us anymore. I am afraid he will get so drunk he gets alcohol poisoning, has a heart attack, or one of his organs stops working. What can I do to not be so afraid? When I tried confronting him about it, he laughed and said it wouldn't happen. I still don't get along with my mother because of the damage he did. I am starting to wonder why I should even worry. He doesn't seem to care about it. I pray every night. What can I do to not be so worried!?

I am a mother of 3 beautiful children there's:
Grace-who is 9
Corey-who is 5
and
Amber-who is 2

I love them! they are my life!
I am married to a wonderful man. Only, his is the biological father to Amber and Corey. He is a great daddy. He also, is a father figure in my Grace's life, and I love that.
Grace's father is in jail (for life), for killing someone and selling drugs.
Grace always calls my husband daddy. which my husband and I love. Because he has been in her life since she was 3 years old.
But lately, she seems to want to know alot about her real father. I know this is normal. And I understand her curiosity. Her real father writes to her sometimes, but not very often, or as I should say, not often enough.
~My question is: How do I tell her that the only way she can see her father is in jail? and What can I do to help my little princess, from wondering, why he doesnt write to her alot, and why she never see's him?
Please help me! Thanks so much!!!

I want to connect with my parents more but latley all I have been doing is pushing them away they don't trust me at all and I snap at them all the time . .. I am trying to pray and become posetive but this is hard for me . .please real answers only please!

My daughter gave birth to a son and asked for me to stay 2 wks to help out. I travelled 6 hours, visited her in hospital for a week and after 2 days at home, sin exploded and accused me of hovering over him and the baby! I thot I was enjoying the baby with him and never suspected I was bothering him, so I apologized and decided to come back home. I am motified, upset and really don't ever want to speak to him again. What do I do?

I am very scared of my dad having a heart attack and dying. I pray that he will never die and cry every night because I am so scared. I would just miss him so much. I am almost in tears as i write this. I love him so much...and i always hear about all of these guys in their 40's dying and i am so scared that that will happen to my dad. Any comforting words?? advice ? is this normal?

She is 15 and has many problems both medical and psychological. I told her that she would be running away from her problems and that would not solve them. I told her to sit down and TALK to her mother and whoever she is having a problem with. I also told her she needs to get her emotions under control because no one can make her feel bad except her...if she has control over her emotions no one else can control her. I don't want to be the bad guy by saying no to her but I don't think she is at an age where getting away from problems will solve anything. Her mother has a live-in boyfriend but he is not the problem and there are also 6 other children in the household...so a big part of it is she is feeling resentful of sharing attention.

My boyfriend gets his kids once a month and his 14 year old daughter yelled at him for telling her she couldn't stay out after 7:00 pm (because it's dark). He told her she was grounded, she came the very next week-end and she fought him and manipulated the situation until he let her off. She even called her mother to talk him out of it. How much damage was done by him letting her off? Will she listen to him next time he tries to punish her?

Even after we have grown up and have our own adult lives, spouses and kids, our parents can say one sentence and make us feel 12 again. When do you draw the line with parental guilt? How often do you try to be the 'adult' with your parent before you say 'if you can't give me the same respect back then fu** this!' I've extended the 'olive' branch twice with my father and stepmom but still they refuse to speak with me, all because I asked if they confused the dates of my daughters birthday when I hadn't heard from them on her actual b-day, they freaked and insulted me and told me off, I said 'you misunderstand I just didn't know if you might have confused the day' they said 'no you are wrong'. I am not wrong, but I am totally confused, frustrated and tired of trying to fix this, as of today I have sent 3 emails explaining that I had never meant for it to be taken that way and am sorry they did so, but still no reply.....what would you do??? By the way I email because one is deaf.

first off, my parents have been seperated all my life. my mom married a man when i was like 3 and i call him my daddy. but i just recently developed a great relationship with my real dad. for the past 3-4 years, we have been getting closer and closer. a couple of months ago, he told me that he was moving to italy and i imediatly wanted to go with him. last week, my mom told me i can move there but none of my friends or family are happy for me, especially my stepdad. he actually cried in front of me! so, should i feel guilty? isnt this supposed to be an amazing oppurtunity for me? why do i feel bad about wanting to live with my dad? Help!!!!

He is quite fragile, but still lives on his own. He doesn't need any more things to set around or use, and all I can ever think of to do with him is talk and take him out for a meal. He loves to just spend time with me, but I'd like to come up with something a little more special. It just might be the last Father's Day I get to spend with him. Any ideas?

well see he goes EVERYDAY and he'll take my other brother and not me!! He even askes him if he wants to go and he says no and I'm like "I want to go please take me!!" aND HE NEVER DOES!! Then he said my bro. HAD to go with him and won't take me!!!! I do stuff for him like make him eggs when my little sis wont and he offers her money and she says no and I do it for free!! If so, how does it change them? What kind of arguing affects them? Simple yelling arguments, or something more severe like physical abuse?

And how often would it have to occur to have an effect? Daily? Weekly?

Her birth father has been in and out of jail since she was born and was not there at the hospital when she was born nor does she have his last name. When I tried to get child support he failed to show up for court. Does he have rights to my husband adopting my daughter?

My dad always use to let me play with his cell phone, when I was bored. But lateley he hides it from me, and refuses to let me see it.
But I know where he hides it now.
I check every morning.
And lateley, there are these messages saying, "I love you"/"I put the pictures, for you".
And my dad replies with messages like, "I can't talk now, but I love you!"
And I know it isn't my mother, cause she has no idea on how to use a phone.

Am I just jumping to conclusions, or am I right!

I don't really wanna tell my mother. Cause I really don't want my parenets to split. It would be so horriable. I don't know what to do!

I came home from school and my mom asked me how i got to school because i had missed the bus.I told her that jaci came to give me a ride to school and then she starts acten like i lied at her and sayen i'm gonna call her and see if she did and the school to see if you even went to school in the first place.I'm like mom stop acten like i'm a lier cause i'm tellen the truth.After dat she walks of sayen she didn't.Later my little sis comes up to me wanten to smell her used deoterant and i push her hand away sayen no. ok so my g/f gets paid every two weeks from her job, and every check her parents come after her and tell her they need the money worse then she does, they give her a huge guilt trip and finally she ends up giving them all of her earnings. My g/f came to me and said she wanted to prevent this so I had her sign her check over to me, I deposited it into my account, and I told her she could take the cash out of my account any time she needs it. My question is, can her parents legally take her money from her, and could they come after me for putting her check into my account so they could not get to the money?

Okay so over a year ago my brother who is now 19 was living with her. She had to give him the boot because he was stealing, fighting with her other kids, and basically NOT following the rules. She didnt want to do it, but her husband made her... The husband and my bro fought all the time too... So my bro took of to FL with this chick and needed to come back. The only plaec he had left to stay was with my husband and I... We let him stay and set rules for him. He did okay in the beginning but met another chik and was with her all the time... Maybe stopping by our house 1x every 2 weeks... Then they broke up and he came back here to our house. We are moving into a smaller house at the end of the month, so our house is a mess... Anyways, I found out that my brother stole a dirty movie from us and also my husbands dead fathers wallet... He hasnt paid us rent for over a month.. We decided to kick him out... Well he spoke with my mom and she calls me heartless... How do I deal with her?
