It maybe possible to go on your own, but you will get the best resource if you go through your parents insurance.

You just tell them that you need to see a doctor. They will ask why and what for. You will say that you believe that you have depression and you would like to get checked. If you are afraid that they will give no understanding and make fun of you - you can tell them that the most recent study shows that if a person't brain stays in the depressed state for a long time it might cause more damage and lead to other mental and physical deseases. But most likely, they will understand.

it's easy. It's not how you tell your parents. It's why you want to keep that a secert from your parents? Go to them and say mom, dad, I need help. And start telling them what the problem is......they will help Good luck.

just tell them the truth and all they would want to do is help you
Sit them down and tell them
and if you wanted to get your own help
there are some hotlines you can call look for them online.

if you feel more comfortable around a certain one, tell them first. if you have siblings, don't tell your parents when they're around, because they can just be a pain and go crazy with it.

you have to have a good conversation with them... open a family meeting and sit down to talk to them... make sure that they are relaxed and not stressed ... (that will make it easier for you) ... then just open up and let it fly........... do not make accusations but let them know how you are feeling...
