first off, my parents have been seperated all my life. my mom married a man when i was like 3 and i call him my daddy. but i just recently developed a great relationship with my real dad. for the past 3-4 years, we have been getting closer and closer. a couple of months ago, he told me that he was moving to italy and i imediatly wanted to go with him. last week, my mom told me i can move there but none of my friends or family are happy for me, especially my stepdad. he actually cried in front of me! so, should i feel guilty? isnt this supposed to be an amazing oppurtunity for me? why do i feel bad about wanting to live with my dad? Help!!!!

Oh sweetheart, follow what your heart feels. Your inner feelings are what you should go with. Don't worry about what other people say. It is your decision. This can be hard but its your inner feelings what matter. Think about the pros and cons of if you go to Italy or stay here. What do YOU want to do? Dont be driven by guilt. Its your LIFE!!

i know how u feel! my parents are divorced to. Do u have any close friends that are always happy for you?? if so i dont know exactly what the problem is and maybe they could help! i think Italy would be fun personally! plus if u dont like it u can always go back and say i realized what i was missing/.... but see if u go to Italy then u have a clean slate and get to start all over so there is nothing bad on ur record

They simply will miss you greatly, but that doesn't mean you should let this rule your decision. It should matter more to you to figure out what lies in wait for you in Italy, are the schools better? Do you get on better with your dad? Where will you be living? Just because it's an exotic location doesn't mean you're going to be better off or have more exciting adventures there.

The reason you feel bad is that your step dad has been there more then your real dad. It what makes a good dad the one who just help make you are the one who has been there with you and has been to every thing you have every done. But if you want to move in with your real dad then you should if that want you want to do.

They may know things about your father that you do not. Also, it would be hard for someone you considerd and called dad for most of your life to feel like he is loosing you to another man. Do what makes you happy. You can always move back if it doesn't work out. You never know until you try. Good Luck!! :)

You shouldn't feel bad the only reason why your family and your friends don't support you in this is because they will miss you. However its not up to them, its your decision. Italy is a once in a lifetime trip that one shouldn't miss out on when they have the chance.
