He is quite fragile, but still lives on his own. He doesn't need any more things to set around or use, and all I can ever think of to do with him is talk and take him out for a meal. He loves to just spend time with me, but I'd like to come up with something a little more special. It just might be the last Father's Day I get to spend with him. Any ideas?

You are lucky to still have you father alive. On fathers day just make sure that he knows you love him. Take him out, spend the whole day with him, have the most family around him, shower him with cards and letters, give him as gifts things he used to like when he was young, some "guy toys", you know men like cars and war, and things like that. Take him back to those fun days, remember he is old but he is still the same man.

Often, older people really enjoy listening to the music of
their youth. Find out what kind of music was popular when
your father was young and who his favorite singer/orchestra
was. If the artist is still alive and performing, it is probably
in a small venue where your dad would feel comfortable.
If he's not able to attend this kind of thing, buy him the
whole set of the person's music and a really good system
to hear it on. Have someone install speakers in his
house, even in the bathroom. He'll love it.

Take like a week or so off from work and just spend the entire week or so with him! Go fishing or something whatever it is he is up to doing that day! Find a week when he is free and when you can rake off from work and each day ask him what HE want to do with YOU!

he would love to spend the time with you...trust me!

A picture of you and him in your younger years with a father and son picture frame, along with a meal. Sounds sappy, but it's special. The more personal, the better.
