Recenlty I purchased something online with my dad's credit card number. I am sixteen. How do I make it so that he doesn't find out that $1500 is missing or at least where it went to?

I agree with everyone else. But, your not completely in trouble yet. What you need to do is return the item that you bought for 1500$ and get the money put back on the card and then you can lie through your teeth if your dad asks about it. If you don't have plans on returning the item, you better hope that your dad expects that it was you and doesn't tell the credit card company to treat the purchase as fraudulent because when they find out it was you, I am pretty sure that the last thing that you should be worried about is your dads reaction. Good luck and try not to steal in the future.

you can not get rid of the bill- you can view it online and if he doesn't view it at all the bank will contact him when he hasn't paid. this cfould hurt his credit and credit is not easy to get back.
what you did could get you in jail, fix it now by telling your dad before this beomes big.

let me explain somthing that you will only understand when you are 20 or so, when you will be working your butt off to pay the bills.

The cash that you just spend is no little number. some people live of that mutch in a month. there is no excuse, there is no help and that fact that you are trying to get out of it now by asking people on yahoo is sader then sad.

You need to grow up. there are so many things that can go wrong with this if you do not go tell your dad RIGHT NOW. I don't care where he is- call him on the phone, leave him a message. do not make his more hard then you alreaddy are.
if he is at work and needs to use his card he may not be able to. witch can make things very bad.
after you do that- grow up and think before you do something like that!

Is this a joke? Sounds like you'd better go get yourself a job and pay your Dad back. He WILL find out it's missing, and credit card bills tell you EXACTLY where the money went. If that was MY Dad when I was 16, he would have called the cops on me. (He has the right to do that, you know.) Sorry, but I have no pity here. You should have thought about this before you did something so ridiculous. You've made your bed, now you'll have to sleep in it.

Return it right away. If he sees on the bill that there is a $1500 charge and then a $1500 credit he MIGHT not investigate. If you keep the item you are:

1. Stealing from your parents.
2. Being dishonest by not confessing that you did it.
3. You will put them through hell trying to figure out why there is this $1500 charge on the credit card bill.

And don't think that you can just intercept the bill and destroy it. They can have it resent or they can also view it online.

I'm glad my kids never did anything like this with me when they were your age. God help us.

What could you purchase online for 1500 dollars? He must have some great credit line, or you went way over his credit limit which means he's going to get bombarded with fees for going over his limit. You better start raising the money right now, and tell him because if you don't - he will kill. lol. You better tell him soon so this way he can cancel the order before they ship it out because some companies do not accept refunds which means that once its shipped it doesn't matter, and he'd get stuck paying the bill.

Send whatever you bought back...immediatley!! He might not find out right away but he will eventually. That way you can say you screwed up...appologize. And sent it back. So you can redeem yourself a little. If you were my son...I would never let you get your license or I would take it away. I would make you get a job and pay me back every cent plus interest. Just like it is in the real world! And if I wanted to be a real hardazz I would call the police and have you charged with fraud/theft which is a misdemeanor for under $500 but what you got what would be a FELONY and let you get punished accordingly! Why should he have to pay for something that you carelessy did? Be up front with him!

I check my bills online. He may already know. First thing to do is tell him and find a way to pay him back. My coming forward, tell him you did something crazy and that you hope he will still respect you. Give him a couple seconds before you tell him what you did (he'll first think you are pregnant). When he finds out it was just money, he will actually be relieved. But make sure you pay him back and show how reponsible you can be. He may not make you pay back all of it.......
I'm a father of 2 daughters. If it was me, it would work. Honestly is always best, but a little humor helps too.

Hmm, think about why you "stole" $1500. From your own dad. He will find out and when he does I hope you get in trouble for what you did.

Once you've got the thought of telling him the truth, I would highly recommend working hard to save up $1500 to pay him back.

I know you think I am crazy, but it is the right thing to do and hopefully you'll understand that someday.

Good luck!

Even if you return whatever it was, it's going to show up on the credit card statement as a purchase and then a credit of the funds. Your best bet is to return it, and then tell your dad about it NOW and not just wait for the statement to come. Maybe he'll go easy on you if you are honest.

First of all, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? and you better hope you can take it back, so that it looks like something got charged to your dad's card by mistake and that the problem has been corrected by the credit card company. Otherwise you have broken his trust and it is all down hill from here. You should have never done that, especially to the tune of $1500. STUPID decision.
