I'm doing a Persuasive Essay. About today's teens being lazy. So I need make adults realize we're not. Show parents that they are seriously underestimating us teens.

I need both sides, Parents thinking we are. And kids thinking we're not, hence thinking parents are the ones being lazy.

thank you

My wife went back to see her parents. Her family, father, mother and brothers live in an dangerous area, so they want to move to a better place. So my wife went to help them, leaving me with the two children. Her father is now against moving and threw her out of the house. She called me this morning to tell me that “she is not coming back until they move, and a hell with our marriage; the only thing important is she and her children”. Does that make sense? What is your opinion?

My aunt wants me desperately to reconnect w/my estraged father. I honestly want no part with him, as he is a stranger to me from being a dead beat dad all my life. She has sent me/offered me gifts just so I would consider inviting him to my wedding (*note: he has not even contacted me in 7 years). After ignoring her requests I have been getting letters that say she wants to contact me so she may "include me in her estate planning" - just one of her manipulative games to get me to contact her and talk more with me about my father. I have already told her that I don't want to discuss the situation with her. I am almost 30, am married and about to start a family. How do I tell my aunt that I am through with all the mind games and that I want them BOTH out of my life. I am at the point to take care of ME first and I feel strongly that elimating this out of my life will make me a happier person. Any advice how to send a strong and clear message to them both?

I have 2 grown up children, a girl, 25 and a but 23. Both great kids. My husband has always loved both, but it's true he's always showed much more love to the grl, though I'm sure he loved the boy the same. This hurt our son, a rather sensitive boy, especially during his teen yearsb and he's always though his dad and even me love our daughter much more than him. H's always been a very good boy, even during his teen years never got in trouble. In fact, my husband was harsher on him than on the girl, so he grew up kinda resentful. Well, it happened that we had a problem and needed help. Our daughter couldn't help us and he could. He did, gave us a great help, but said kinda bitterly and resentful that it was kinda ironic that it washim, the child we despise and put aside, that helped us in a difficult moment. He even usedthe word trash to mean what he thinks he is to us. I'm feeling kinda bad, sad, almost devastated. Were we so bad parents to a great son? Will he resent us for life?

My boyfriend is real good to me and my kids but we still have our problems like all couples. He gets upset sometimes because the house is a little messy or the laundry isn't done. He doesn't yell or anything he just nags about it. I work and go to school during the day and will admit that I have trouble managing my time. How can I manage my time better or talk him into helping me more?

I asked this question a couple of months ago but I had to erase it because my brother seen what I was doing. One day he walked in the house real late and didn't say a word. Then his girlfriend the next day turned up missing. I've asked him if he knew anything because he's the last person that was with her but he said he doesn't know anything. She still hasn't turned up and it's been three months. Everybody is looking for answers. He's been acting weird and doesn't let anybody go in his room. Should I trust my brother and leave the investigation to the police or should I snoop around in his room? I know this sounds weird but what would you do in this situation?

My stepdaughter whom I've raised since she was 2 has been very bad for years now. I've done everything counseling doctors dhr. etc. Her daddy was spoilling her and now he's tired of it. I know that she has alot of problems to deal with and the most problem that I think is that she don't understand why her "mother" gave her up to her daddy she's even asked the "mother" and she replied she couldn't handle her. I've always been there for her and I've tried helping her by sitting down and asking her what's wrong so that I can help her. I love her so much. She's always in trouble or she's mean to her brother and sister. She's a liar. Her teacher doesn't even trust her. She's already got suspended from school in the 3rd grade for having a weapon and lying about it. I just don't know what else to do. She don't care about her punishments because when she gets punished she goes and does the same thing again. Her "mother" tell her that all she's doing is wanting attention. Please help me.

I have 2 SILaws that talk badly about each other even when they are not mad at each other! One SIL seems to like me more than the other "M" since she sometimes takes the time to call and hang out with me .
I have asked M why doesn't "H" call me or show up to my gatherings which has hurts my feelings. She says it is bcuz "H" is so jealous of me and does not like me very much.
I thought that was kinda hurtful to say, but I thought I believed her since her sister does make strange comments about my clothes, but then goes out and buys something very similar! I have never disrespected H and always made sure I showed up to her gatherings. After 1 year of this triangle between two sisters and me feeling hurt about "H", I finally asked her why didn't she like me. She said she never said she didn't like me, she just gets annoyed w/ all my Name Brand stuff (she always asked where I get my clothes) and I never bragged to her. Now M hates me for telling her! Pls help me fix this!

I am kind of disgusted with how we treat our elders in this country. As far as I am concerned the very fact that a person has SURVIVED 65 years in this world is commendable by itself. What is disgusting is the conditions in which we expect our direct founders, (from a personal level inside the family, to a governmental level of overall impact, and then as to their economic impact), live out their days. Now in my personal experience with relatives mixed in with a slight stereotype of the depression generation, most don’t expect huge luxuries, they are content to live modestly even with the means for more, yet there are those that do not even have the basic comforts.

my husband had physical custody of him at the time and when we said no, my stepson got mad and ran away from home back to bio mom's house. We didn't say he couldn't smoke, but that he could not smoke in our home...basically because it is our home and NOBODY smokes in our home, not even our guests. We don't smoke.

Bio mom got up in the air because we said he couldn't smoke in our house. We have several e-mails harping on the fact that we wouldn't let him smoke in our house. Anybody have any insight as to why?

I invited my boiyfriend's cousin and her 9 yo granddaughter to stay with us until she got back on her feet. After a few days I knew it was not going to work. We live in a 2-bedroom apartment with a 6 yo daughter of our own and I felt uncomfrtable in my own home. I am a person who needs personal space and privacy. My invitation was genuine and I wholeheartedly wanted to help and felt good about helping. She has started saying things to imply that she is planning on staying 4-7 months! But honestly I cannot allow it even a day longer. My living room is now her bedroom! There is nothing wrong with their behavior, she cleans, and cooks and helps out some. But the $$ she said she was going to give us we have not seen. I want my space back! I want my privacy back! Last night her 2 yo grandson was to come stay as well. I was not asked or informed. I am starting to feel like I am being taken advantage. My boyfriend does not have a problem and welcomes the help. How do I tell them to go?

Have you encountered parents who seem to have lost perspective? I'd like to hear your story. Here's my example:

I am a cancer survivor. At the height of my battle, I had radiation sickness and water on my brain. I lost all motor skills-walking, writing, brushing my teeth, etc- I had gained 50 steroid induced pounds in 3 months from the heavy steroid dosage I was on. Several times, when people saw how uncomfortable I was in my bloated, broken body, people said to me, "Now you know how hard it is to be pregnant." I mean, COME ON! Right?

I know a single 39 year-old woman who portrays a true mother to me. I don't feel very comfortable living with my family, because they neglect me and never really been there for me. I've even got my own summer job to pay for things I need. They always invade my privacy and yell a lot. I even like school better than being at home. It's like genuine Hell on Earth. I feel like I don't fit in or I'm not good enough.
