wanted to be in her life so why give her his name right? well she is only 2 months now and me and her dad have gottton our stuff straight and he wants her to have his last name. so my question is what do i have to do to make this possible? ok he is in jail untill 2009 and he did not sigh the birth certificate is this possible to be done

i think so, maybe you can take the birth certificate to the jail house and ask the sheriff or judge is it possible for you to let your boyfriend sign the paper.

You can change a child's name on a birth certificate for two years for no charge, but the father must sign a statement of paternity in order for his name to be on the birth certificate. You may be able to have him sign it while in jail, but you will have to check on that.

Why would you even procreate with a criminal?
He can sign the certificate when he gets out. Try not to let him be too much of an influence, though.

Yes, you can have his name added. Got to the county clerk's office and get the paper work.
