I am very considerate of this question because i have a teen for a son. He works very hard, but not always at what his father wants. There is a very big difference there. My son needs to develop and to mature as the person that he is intended to become, not my husband's handy man. On the other hand, my husband believes that unless the son works with the father, he does not learn the value of the father's thinking. My son believes that what he is doing is the important thing. But he is immature yet and doesn't know everything about growing up. None of this has to do with lazy, It's all about love relationships. If people took the time to follow love's advice, work would come out better and everything would work out over time much better. The thing is that they are in too much of a hurry. So they think they are lazy because they are not running in the same race together at the same time. It doesn't make sense that way. It's not a race, it's a life.

I am assuming you are a teen. If both of your parents work, mental jobs are very tiring. Mothers usually fix the meals, and do the housework.
Let me ask you as a teen, do you "tell" your mother to go sit after a meal that she fixed , that you will do the dishes, maybe sweep the floor, start the laundry, go clean up your room. In the summer, do you "volunteer" to wash the windows, or mow the yard, or clean up animal droppings out of the yard, pick up sticks out of the yard before it is mowed. Do you volunteer to do these dozens of jobs or even do them??? I truthfully doubt it. Then you want to know if you are lazy. Truthfully, no, I know, you do not as a teen see these things to do. Teens do so little today, yes, the majority are lazy.
I think what you see as lazy in parents is tired from a stressful and busy/multitasked life.
I ment no insult in any of this, just pointing out issues.

Many people think kids are lazy- and you are right, it should be the other way around. They say that being a student is not as hard as having a job. My message to these parents: You try getting paid absolutely nothing for your 8 hours of work, and then you can talk to me about being lazy.
High School is one of the most difficult times of a person's life, and parents expecting you to be their waitress does not help matters.
Most even say that they were not as "lucky" as we are to have so many electronics- welcome to the 21st century, buddy! Time to get off Memory Lane!

When I was your age, we didn't have cell phones. If we got lost, we had to use a pay phone, and hope someone was home. We didn't have VCR's and DVD's and Ipod's. If we wanted to see a movie, we had to do chores every day to earn enough money to go to the theatre. We were lucky to have a Walkman that used cassette tapes. We didn't have remote controls, we had to get up and walk across the room to change the channel - no such thing as cable. We didn't have microwaves, we heated things up in the oven. We didn't have dishwashers, we washed all dishes by hand. If we wanted to visit our neighbor a mile away, we walked to get there. If we wanted to buy something more than $20, we did odd jobs in the neighborhood to earn the money ourselves. My parents worked, so my I did all of the household cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc. by myself. We respected our parents, teachers, and older adults. If we wanted something, and were told "no", then no meant no.
We went to Church every Sunday, and got spanked if we misbehaved.
I could go on and on....

I believe that some kids are physically lazy. However, even the video games that are played as a time killer are mentally challaging. Parents need to relize the mental stress kids are under that didnt take place in there time. This mental stress is also a toal on the body. So just cause kids seem physically lazy they arent really lazy because of the metal strain they are under.

That is not a wise argument. Any debate teacher worth their salt would kill your argument. I suggest, you wanting to change the view of teenagers, you find hard workingteens. some do volunteer work, or tudor under performing students, have part time jobs ater school. You can't say teenagers aren't lazy, you can say all teenagers aren't lazy. you can't say all parents are lazy, you can say some parents are lazy. Good luck.

I know for a fact my mom is just as lazy as I am. I drive her to work every morning at 8am when I don't have to be at school until 11am. Yet, one night when I'm on my way to a hockey game, she won't drive me to the train because she's "too comfortable in bed". That's just one amongst many examples but you get the idea.
