Family - February 2007

Straight A, MVP multi-athlete, multi-instrument musician, long distance runner, 8th grade (skipped kindergarten, never do that again). Well behaved by today's standard and loved by her family, teachers and coaches. And today my wife overheard her on her cell phone talking to her friend. She said she told mom that she had to stay after school for practice, but she's really going to "kiss him for the first time". Rules no boys in middle school, and any date in high school, we have to meet him and his parents. Plus she lied. Step one, we called coach to confirm she didn't have to stay after school, and will be picking her up before and waiting until her basketball game. She doesn't know she knows yet, but she didn't argue when we told her, so I suspect that once again, she's caught. But this one is serious. What do we do next. Conservatives, liberals, and teenagers please respond. I would like to have a complete and open outlook before I over or under react.

My parents are like the most super protective parents ever. im not even allowed to go to sleep overs. and im not allowed to have a boy friend!! im 16!! wth im so mad!! and they don't let me go to the mall with my friends. i really dont know why. my dad just wants me to get A's and but successful and rich like him. well i wanna have fun!! they buy me like millions of expensive stuff and i am thankful. but im 16, why can't i have a little freedom. no one else i know has parents like mine. it really makes me mad. all my friends are like me and we like to have fun, the only problem is that im not allowed!! GRRR!! i just am so pissed off.

My mom keeps telling me that if I really want to leave the house then I can. She knows I would go live with my boyfriend. (I am 17 and he is 19) as childish as it sounds I think I would be better off leaving because I can't even do good in school living here. Then she says that if I leave she'll call the cops on me. If I decide to just leave and sends the cops on me can she have my boyfriend arrested and/or can they make me come back to her house.

Its been 2 weeks and i am still trying to get over this, ANGRY is not even the word. My wife just gave birth 6 weeks ago to my daughter. I was away for a business trip to Japan for a week, so my mother came to the house to help my wife for the week,I've had my dog Benji since I was in graduated college, He was the sweetest dog, and was recently sick, but not terminally ill at all. During the week I was gone my mother had her friends over to see the baby.According to my mother Benji snapped at one of the women and bit her arm which required stitches. Now this part makes me want to cry, My mother and wife took it upon themselves to have Benji put to sleep. I am so heartbroken over this, I don't even know where to begin. I haven't talked to my wife or mother in 2 days. How do I handle this??/

I just found out I'm 2 months pregnant and a couple of months ago my bf told me that he was gonna go to visit his brother in Japan since he hasn't seen him since 3 years ago. I mentioned to him that i didn't think it's a good idea because even though his brother offered to pay half the airfare i think we could use that money for an emergency or for things that the baby will need but- he says that since he's gonna be "tied down" that he won't be able to travel later so he insists on going on his trip. I totally disagree with him but he says that he's been planning it and that he's not changing plans just cuz i'm preg and asking him not to go. I think he's being stupid & immature. We don't live together yet but are planning on moving in on Sept so we will need money for 1st,last & deposit for a house or aparment rental so we need all the money we can save. Note i already have a child (4 y/o) by a previous relationship of which i get child support from. Am i overeacting?

There's a guy I've known for over 10 years off and on. The last several months we've gotten to be very close friends, and he's gotten to know my husband and children as well.

The other day he took me to a furniture store in his truck to pick something up. My husband was working so my niece babysat. When we got back, I took my niece home and he stayed with the kids while I was gone (15 minutes tops).

Today I got a call from my mother lecturing me cause I left the kids with him for a few minutes, and how I don't know him well enough to trust him.... when the fact is,... its HER that doesn't know him. She implied that I'm negligent and incompetent as a parent, that I put my children in danger,... she yelled and argued.... and when I argued back, she hung up on me.

Am I wrong to be angry that my own mother thinks I'm a negligent and incompetent parent when everything I've ever done proves otherwise? And how do I forgive that kind of insult, especially from my own mother?

all my life i have caused **** for her. see parent trap i was ten times worse id beat the fella up. so i try to sort things n go out on the piss (day before me mums interview) me mam aint had an unterview for job 4 ova 2years. so i go out that night with me cousin she causees **** and i have 2 ring me mam 2 pick me up athalf 1 ! If you read my earlier question you would know that he was never a father to me when I was growing up. My mother divorced him when I was a baby. I have seen him twice in my entire life and he was abusive to my mother when she was pregnant with me. His relatives, however, apparently know where I live and I am afraid they will ask call me asking for money when the times comes, seeing that I am his only offspring (that I know of). I haven't heard from these relatives on his side in over 20 years and all of a sudden I get a letter that his health hasn't been so good lately and there were some insinuations that I should be helping out. They (including him) live 2,000 miles away from me. Why couldn't they have answered the letters I wrote them as a child over the years? Would I be responsible for all of this? I don't feel as though I am. I have two perfectly wonderful parents here by me who would be hurt if they found out I received that letter.

I'm 15, my mom messed up, did something I could never expect she would o and broke my trust. Got me really down. Then,. she apologized, said is going through a hard time and asked me to forgive her and keep trusting her. I felt very sorry for her, but I remembered some months ago I also made a mistake not so bad as the one she did. She grounded me for some days and for 2 weeks acted as she didn't trust me any more. That turned me realy down. Then, she told me everything was over and she undertood I could mess up sometimes and said she trusted me. I told mom about what she did to me, how I felt, how she hurt my feelings. She said she always trusted me, and agreed she had been too harsh. Well, I ended up forgiving her, told her she has my trust, but I was much nicer to her now then she was to me when I messed up, Maybe I should have been harsher

To make a long story short my uncle molested me when I was like 7 and I told my aunt and she told me not to tell anyone because he would go to jail. Now many years have past he is dead, but not my aunt and I can't stand being around her!!!! My family knows about it and are not very supportive, and can't understand why I don't like her. They try to push me to be around her, except my mom she's not like that. But this is the only way I can really get my feelings out, I am seeing a therapist. Is there something wrong with me, that I don't want to be around my aunt? because they make me feel like it is me with the problem, i just don't know anymore, and it is really bothering me.

Hi guys, i think this question is kinda silly. But please help me by all means! I am still so dependent on my parents now and I am living w/ them. We just bought a brand new 2007 vehicle and it is quite expensive for us. Yesterday my dad he let me borrow the car and I accidentally made a damage to it. Now there is a big ugly scratch on the very back of the car. Car's color is silver so that is obvious for my dad to see the scratch. Since my dad he is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY serious about car damage and such matter would piss he off so quick. It's like he's gonna ground me up or something like that. Although we have insurance, but he still takes it very seriously. Should I tell him the truth or should I lie to him by letting it go and wait until he finds out on his own? I feel very uncomfortable if I have to lie. But since my dad he will never take this matter slightly, i think i have to lie. Please help me seriously!!!! pleaseeeeeeee Thank you

My son is 24 and acting like a teenager. I believe in God and brought him up as a christian, now he says I poisoned his mind and tried to brainwash him and that he does not think he can speak to me again if I cannot listen to reason. (If the existence of God cannot be proved scientifically then God cannot exist)
We have always talked about many things, including philosophy and I dont have a problem with his beliefs but cannot say I do not believe in something which is so important to me.
Should I pretend he didnt say it, try to talk to him about it, or just do nothing and wait and see what happens?
