I was adopted. Recently i got in touch with my birth family and we have gotten very close. However, after I was born my mother had four other children, two of whom died in infancy. I would like very much when I visit my birth family to visit the grave sites of my deceased baby brothers and pay my respects, as well as learn more about them and the disease that caused their deaths. I have learned however, through my grandmother, that my mother is very sensative on the topic and feels responsible for the deaths of my brothers (the disease that caused their deaths is hereditary). I would like to talk about my brothers with my mother, who was closest to them, but I need some advice on the best way to approach the topic with my mother, I don't want to hurt anyone or bring back bad memories.

This happened to me.

Just last year, my parents told me I have a half brother and a half sister from my mother's side from a man she married long ago

I only seen my mom's son twice and I never seen the daughter.

I also think that she has a third son she is just not telling me

I've never been upset about it at all.
I just don't like her kids.

1) Is it normal not to like them?
2) How would you feel about this and what would you do if this happened to you?

im one of four heirs of an estate, but im in place of my mother per ohio state law. im in ca and dont know whats happening. all i know is theres court dates and loans from the estate going to all but me. there is a music business (coin-op) and some property involved. the other three heirs all have diff stories to tell but all want me to give up my shares of stock. not sure what to do cause im so far away. at first i didnt care but seeing them all act like they are makes me want to collect whats rightfully mine. what should i do ? and is the way i feel right? i did know them while my mother was alive but since her passing they chose to go there own way.

Is it strange that my sister still smokes MJ at the age of 41? She is very responsible and dependable. Graduated from college and earns a nice paycheck. She says most of her friends (her age) still use it on the weekends, strange or just me?

Pretend that you graduated college. You married someone and now you have children. Would you give-up your career just to be with your family at home and why? Kindly input your age also. TY in advance!!!

My family, friends, relatives always complain that I never show emotional affection to them becuase I don't show my feelings.

this is especially true when it come to my parents.

I grew up in an abusive house hold when I was young but now am 19 and I guess it all worked out in the end but I think that lack of showing emotion is due to this whole physical abuse thing.

I love my parents, friends and relatives but I just don't show it.

1) Is this wierd or wrong?
2) Can this affect my relationships with women in the future?

i am almost 30 years old for crying out loud. i've lived on my own for years debt free and still stress about their disapproval of me. up until a few years ago, i let their opinions change my personal decisions. i don't want them to effect this one!

i've just accepted an excellent job opportunity that will change my career path for the future. i've done all my research on it. as it turns out - better pay, better hours, better co-workers, i have not burned my bridges at the old job just in case i have to go groveling back and STILL my parents are criticizing my decision.

What I have to do? On 25-th of January there will be a concert in the university in which I with my rock group should act. But my father is literally yesterday has told: " If you once again will go at rehearsal you can buy the ticket home! And you'll go to your mum to live in village! You will live there all your life! " (My parents have divorced when I was a child. When I have grown up my father have taken me to him into New York, have helped me to enter the university. Now I live with him.) I don't know that I have to do! I cannot let down my group.

My father is a cocaine user and I don't know how to approach him to get him to stop...I sometimes think about calling his job so that they can fire him, or calling the police because I hate what he's doing. I really don't know what to say to him, my mom makes such a joke out of it, I almost didn't take it serious. But it hurts...I want him to stop...what should I do?

What about rehab? He's an alcoholic, but he won't go because he'll lose his job but now that he's doing cocaine too, he'll lose it regardless. I don't know what to do...

I helped my sister buying a car, she put a down payment and I financed the rest for her, of course she makes the monthly payments on it. Obviously the insurance is under my name. Few months ago she hit the car, according to her it wasn't her fault, so I thought OK and I put a claim with the insurance company. Today she calls me and tells me someone hit the car again, while she was driving, it hasn't been not even 6 months. I told her I was not going to put another claim with my insurance company because it was risky and they could drop me. My father thinks I am mean, and my mother shows preference for her. I feel upset and it hurts, because they think that way. What should I do? I want to refinanance the car under her name. I have done enough.

My mom bought me this big jacket cause it been getting cold lately and she though i needed a better coat. It was too big and it really was a boys jacket so i asked her if i could exchange it for something else. She got really offended and said that i was ungrateful and all of my family agreed. Was i wrong for not wanting it? There reactions really hurt my feelings and now i feel like im being a brat. Was i wrong what do you guys think?
