'for xmas this year I wanted' .........Simple but useful gifts.........Like a simple box of "good" chocolates for me, or a nice bottle of Cologne. My wife uses "Realm" perfume which costs about $20.00 at Rite-Aid. We are all too old as adults at this point in time to be "getting and giving" useless gifts that are never used and eventually just tossed out (like that watch that broke as soon as I tried to wind it last Xmas Day). We certainly don't expect any expensive gifts from you, but we are adults, we buy our own clothes, watches, gadgets, etc., ( usually at the quality adults expect to get for a price). So therefore If "It's the thought that counts" then "think",......... think about what I've just said, and what is being said in the article below. By the way, even the cat didn't want to get near, or sleep on that funny smelling housecoat you got my wife. I don't want to appear to be mean and nasty, but enough is enough. We spend a lot of money on your family for the holidays

I love these stories and want to hear yours. How did your grandmother and grandfather meet?

It was a different time and people met in different ways. I have a great-aunt and great-uncle who met at a USO dance. My mom's parents met on a boat. My dad's parents had an arranged marriage.

If you don't know the answer, ask them! Don't let that history be lost. They'll love telling you the story, and the answer may be the most entertaining story they ever tell you. But once you know, please share!

My father and I have a strange relationship, I'm sure that goes for many relationships in the world. However, I'm trying to anylise why my father has a serious problem with the smallest things. For example: I went out to get coffee in the morning, rather than brewing my own. At the cafe I decide to bring home a cup for me and my father. I figured no big deal and you may think that also. So, I get home, at the time my father was ironing shirts and I let him know I got him a cup of coffee. So far nothing wrong right? Well he shook his head in disbelief or dissapointment, I asked him if there was something wrong and if I offended him by bringing him a cup of coffee. He didn't say much besides "I don't want coffee everytime you get a cup". I walked away confused... What ever happened to Thanks for thinking of me... I just noticed my father has some serious issues, recolecting many instances of this similar nature. Thank God I have the sense to become a better father/person.

She started shutting me out a few days ago. She wont say a single word to me. I have tried talking to her. We have 2 kids and she just locks herself in the bedroom till they go to bed and she still wont say a thing to me even when she does come out. If she does come out and see the kids she's fine with them but not me. I didnt even do anything wrong... that I know of. What should I do? The more I ask here the more angry she gets, but if I leave it alone she just withdraws more and more

My mother still treats me like a little kid and I can't stand it. She says I'm not aloud to date until I'm 30. I just told her that I'm going to be married before I'm 30 so I certainly have to start dating before then. How can I convince my mom that I'm not that helpless 5 year old anymore and that I'm a mature teenager?

Growing up my dad has always been narcisstic. He belittled me, had me crying at the table everynight over grades, or not being in sports, or not being as good as my brothers, or while he was trying to "help" me with my homework. He'd always say things like "your younger brother understands". He didn't let me go out with friends when I was in highschool....but let my brothers do whatever they wanted. My parents are now divorced...and in 2003 he told our pastor he was being abused by my mother...which totally did me in because we were the ones being abused. NOW, i am 27, married, have a beautiful girl, that I couldn't imagine saying the stuff that he said to me. I am still messed up from him, low-self esteem, I used to self-injure...and he is still playing mind games....should I cut him out of my life or what??? Is there ever truely any way to get along with a narsissist. You can't talk to them, he just thinks your being mean then. Any help will be appreciated.

my bf of 5yrs is all that and more.everyone tells me how lucky i am to have found him.he would give a stranger the shirt off his back if needed and is allways there to help a friend in need.but when it comes to me he could care less about my feelings and almost seems jealous of me when good things happen to me.he will say things like "figures, nothing good like that every happens to me".he was raised in a female dominate family and his ex was very controlling(still is) and liked to fight.i'm the not like that i tend to go along with anything just to keep peace.one would thing he would be grateful for me after been controlled by females all his life but hes not.the more someone is nasty, controlling to him the nicer he is to them like his exwife.if we have a disagreement(his ex and me)he will always side with his exwife even if he tells me he knows shes wrong(for his sons sake or so he says).i have tryed to push back but i feel he has gotten away with it for so long its to late now

She will spend an hour or more on the phone texting. My concern is that the buttons could wear out and that the phone will be ruined. If I say anything to her mother (my daughter) she says that I am being mean and picky. Is it possible to ruin the phone by texting too much.

i am a 16 yr old boy. since i was 9 my mother has been making me do chores. when i was young, she'd just make do odd jobs while she did the rest of the housework. As years have passed, she slowly lumped more chores on me. Now, I have to clean the entire house and take care of my baby brother at the same time. She's the mother, yet I'm taking care of the baby not her. Recently I got a job and my mother is mad because i cant be her full-time maid anymore. She verbally abuses me and she calls me a liar and a lazy pig. My dad also joins in and attacks me verbally. Everytime i hear them say that I don't ever help them I get really mad, because when i was having my exam period, I sacrificed my study time just to clean up for them and buttle for them. When I don't do chores, they get mad and scream and take away all the stuff i bought myself. I'm really depressed and i feel imprisoned in my own house. I have no way out. I don't feel like I'm a son to my parents. I feel like an unpaid butler.

do all teenagers get annoyed with their parents? when i was younger, i never cared what they said to me, but now i get annoyed for the slightest things. i mean, it's as if whatever they do annoys me! i love them, but still i feel like running away or something. i feel like i just want to get away from them even though i don't want to feel that way. does everyone go through this stage when they're teenagers?

She always stands up for her broke *** son and gives him money. When her daughter is the one that takes care of her and pays her bills, takes her to appointments, etc. Things she can't do anymore she does. But whenever she complains to her about all the bad he's been doing, all my grandma does is nothing. But her son can complain about anything and she'll yell at her daughter and grandkids for nothing! So how should i tell her that she's being used by her son, because he's stealing from her and geting paid for basicly sleeping on his butt all day!
